Corban College & Graduate School
2007-08 Season Summary
After five seasons under the guidance of
head coach Dave Bale, Corban saw the return
of former head coach Terry Williams after
half a decade away from the bench.
Despite dropping its first four games,
including an exhibition contest against NCAA
Division I member Gonzaga, the Warriors
won six of their next eight games heading
into the Christmas break.
During a nine-game losing streak
that began at the end of December and
flowed into the New Year, senior Jessica
Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) became of
Warriors’ all-time leading scorer in the
opening few minutes against Warner Pacific
on January 12 th . A jumper with 12 minutes
remaining in the opening half pushed
Steigleman past former Warrior Christy
Nordstrom (1993-97) and into the record
books.
On the final home weekend of the season
for Corban, the Warriors teamed with Warner
Pacific to host the first-ever Think Pink
Night. In helping to raise awareness about
breast cancer, Corban defeated the visiting
Knights, 74-69, with junior Kailey Bostwick
(Medford, Ore.) setting the all-time single
game record for assists with 14.
Steigleman paced Corban’s offense with a
pair of school records – 533 total points and
an average of 17.8 points per game, while
sophomore Emily Goette (Aumsville, Ore.)
aided Steigleman’s scoring performance with
an average of 11.9 points per contest.
On the boards, Goette pulled down a
team-best 224 rebounds and averaged a
team-high 7.5 boards per contest. Aiding on
the glass, Steigleman grabbed 207 rebounds
and in the process became only the third
Warrior in history to record more than 1,000
points, 500 rebounds, 200 steals, and 50
blocks in her career.
Steigleman was the lone Warrior to
be named 1 st Team All-Conference, while
also earning NAIA All-American honorable
mention for the first time in her illustrious
career.
Williams continued to add to his school
record win total, as the nine-year leader of
the Warriors is now 157-138 overall.
Senior Jessica Steigleman and sophomore Emily Goette led the Warriors last season, as Steigleman leaves the program after
four seasons as the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer. Meanwhile, Goette finished second on the team in scoring last season
and led the squad with an average of 7.5 rebounds per contest.
