<strong>Corban</strong> College & Graduate School<br />
2007-08 Season Summary<br />
After five seasons under the guidance of<br />
head coach Dave Bale, <strong>Corban</strong> saw the return<br />
of former head coach Terry Williams after<br />
half a decade away from the bench.<br />
Despite dropping its first four games,<br />
including an exhibition contest against NCAA<br />
Division I member Gonzaga, the Warriors<br />
won six of their next eight games heading<br />
into the Christmas break.<br />
During a nine-game losing streak<br />
that began at the end of December and<br />
flowed into the New Year, senior Jessica<br />
Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) became of<br />
Warriors’ all-time leading scorer in the<br />
opening few minutes against Warner Pacific<br />
on January 12 th . A jumper with 12 minutes<br />
remaining in the opening half pushed<br />
Steigleman past former Warrior Christy<br />
Nordstrom (1993-97) and into the record<br />
books.<br />
On the final home weekend of the season<br />
for <strong>Corban</strong>, the Warriors teamed with Warner<br />
Pacific to host the first-ever Think Pink<br />
Night. In helping to raise awareness about<br />
breast cancer, <strong>Corban</strong> defeated the visiting<br />
Knights, 74-69, with junior Kailey Bostwick<br />
(Medford, Ore.) setting the all-time single<br />
game record for assists with 14.<br />
Steigleman paced <strong>Corban</strong>’s offense with a<br />
pair of school records – 533 total points and<br />
an average of 17.8 points per game, while<br />
sophomore Emily Goette (Aumsville, Ore.)<br />
aided Steigleman’s scoring performance with<br />
an average of 11.9 points per contest.<br />
On the boards, Goette pulled down a<br />
team-best 224 rebounds and averaged a<br />
team-high 7.5 boards per contest. Aiding on<br />
the glass, Steigleman grabbed 207 rebounds<br />
and in the process became only the third<br />
Warrior in history to record more than 1,000<br />
points, 500 rebounds, 200 steals, and 50<br />
blocks in her career.<br />
Steigleman was the lone Warrior to<br />
be named 1 st Team All-Conference, while<br />
also earning NAIA All-American honorable<br />
mention for the first time in her illustrious<br />
career.<br />
Williams continued to add to his school<br />
record win total, as the nine-year leader of<br />
the Warriors is now 157-138 overall.<br />
Senior Jessica Steigleman and sophomore Emily Goette led the Warriors last season, as Steigleman leaves the program after<br />
four seasons as the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer. Meanwhile, Goette finished second on the team in scoring last season<br />
and led the squad with an average of 7.5 rebounds per contest.<br />
