Pot ‘O Gold Wrap up / Field House News POT O’GOLD WRAP UP A “Pot O’ Gold” was certainly at the end of the rainbow as our spring fundraiser was again a huge success raising $31,000 for the school! The $5,000 jackpot came down to a four-way split between Jerry Boron, Terry Butler, Lorne Elbert, and Barb Salata. The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to bring parents, alumni, friends, faculty, and staff all together for the good of raising funds to improve the school’s campus. A very special THANK YOU goes out to our corporate sponsors: Allstate Financial Services, Elbert Excavating, National City Bank, Nick Abraham Auto Mall, and North Ohio Heart Center. We would also like to thank the Lapos Family/Lapos Construction for the generous donation of their timeshare at Williamsburg Plantation in Williamsburg, Virginia, and to Nielsen Jewelers for the beautiful sapphire and diamond necklace. A thank you also goes out to Mari and Michaela Foisy for providing lovely music during cocktail hour. This event could not be possible without the tremendous support of our committee members, numerous volunteers, business leaders, those who donated items to the silent auction or raffles, took out ads in the program, made monetary donations, and especially to those who purchased tickets and attended this event. We thank you for your loyalty and support. We couldn’t have done it without you. Hope to see you again next year! MATT WILHELM RETURNS TO EC TO CHECK OUT NEW FIELD HOUSE The Panther football players were given the rare opportunity to work out and run some drills on July 2nd with former EC football star, Matt Wilhelm ’99 who currently plays for the San Diego Chargers. Matt (pictured below) stopped at EC to check out the new addition to the athletic complex and to workout with the upcoming Panther football team. The concrete work and landscaping around the field house addition are scheduled to take place this summer. The new addition will also allow us to add another locker room and an equipment room.

Beyond the stage was a very talented group of students who orchestrated all of the lighting and audio. They combined for over 20 years of experience. Eagle Scout Project Improves Auditorium As part of his requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, Drew Bihary from Troop 397 of Lorain, chose Elyria Catholic as his project choice. On March 26, 2008, Drew organized a crew of 12 fellow workers who assisted him in the installation of new mini-blinds for all the windows in the auditorium.
