etc as selected in the guidepost. The navigation panel should
be divided into the subtitle bar, the main menu bar and the
project specific bar in that order. The general form should be
the “inverted L” with the guidepost in the upper left hand
corner. The optional status bar should be located at the bottom
of the inner shell. The rest of the inner shell should contain
the main display screen (refer to figure 2).
5.6 . Guidepost functions. This area should allow the user to get
to and initiate special advanced functions or to return the user
to default settings as described herein. A logo for the
guidepost may be used.
a. Pop-up menu. Right mouse clicking on the guidepost area
should provide the following guide post functions menu via
a pop-up.
b. Reset. If the user interface can be changed, a user should
be able to reset the user interface back to the default,
defined as the user interface defined upon normal start-up
of the IETM for the first time.
c. Minimize IETM. This should cause the IETM to disappear
from the screen and indicate an active application on the
application tool bar for the operating system.
d. Exit IETM. This should ask the user if they wish to exit
the IETM and then if appropriate to save the session
e. Print screen. Print what is on the IETM screen.
f. Print page. Print the present screen including scrolled
off information.
g. Page view. Change to a paged view, usually PDF.
h. Open new IETM. Open another IETM in a separate window.
i. Pause and save work/location. For those IETMs that can
pause, save and resume sessions.
j. Resume saved work/location. For those IETMs that can
pause, save and resume sessions.
k. Create TPDR. Create a TPDR for the portion of the IETM
currently being used (for IETMs that use this function).
l. View change summary. Should allow user to view the change
summary.
m. Resume. Should allow user to resume if user accidentally
brought up the guidepost and does not need to do anything.
