EXAMPLE IETM CONOPS LAYOUT
B.1 SYSTEM INTRODUCTION. Provide a brief introduction to the
system, its configuration and how the IETM should be supported.
B.2 SYSTEM ATTRIBUTES.
B.2.1 Complexity of System. Provide description and maintenance
concept for the system. Describe use of built-in test systems,
fault isolation features and techniques for troubleshooting.
B.2.2 Configuration Volatility. Where necessary different IETMs
may be required to support various system/equipment
configurations. When configuration volatility exists, the
CONOPS should describe those volatilities and the steps
necessary to overcome them.
B.2.3 Classification and Security. The IETM should not contain
classified data, where necessary the IETM should reference
documents containing the appropriate classified data.
B.2.4 Expected Service Life. Describe the expected service life
of the system or equipment. Also, provide any expected update
and interval for those updates.
B.2.5 Number and Deployment Systems. Provide information on the
number, location, and sites where the system will be deployed.
Location characteristic and operating environments should also
be included.
B.2.6 Number of IETM Users. Describe the number of IETM users the
intended system is to support. Provide details such as
requirements for printing and display characteristics.
Additional information on IETM licenses and cost of maintaining
the IETM should be provided. Information on the intended users
should also be provided. Information such as level of
technician, skills required and support personnel required
should be provided.
B.2.7 Quantity of Data. Provide details on the source data for
the IETM and how much data will be generated.
B.2.8 Quality of Data. Describe the integrity and quality of the
source data and expected quality of the final IETM data.
Provide any information on additional quality improvement
measures that may be required.
B.2.9 Consolidation of Subject Matter. Describe the initial scope
of coverage in the IETM and what future releases will contain.
Describe whether future releases will include enhancements or be
significantly different than the first release.
