The following frequencies are authorized for COMMSTAs Portsmouth and<br />

San Francisco to participate in the DOT emergency transportation net<br />

during emergencies or natural disasters.<br />

Note: "L012 - To be used only in an emergency jeopardizing life,<br />

public safety, or important property under conditions calling<br />

for immediate communication where other means of communication<br />

do not exist or are temporarily disrupted or inadequate. To<br />

insure that radio equipment for emergency use is maintained in<br />

satisfactory operating condition, testing on such frequencies<br />

is permitted, provided that in sofar as practicable, transmitters<br />

shall be tested with a non-radiating load and the test use of a<br />

radiating antenna held to a minimum and provided further that<br />

such testing shall be restricted to test message traffic<br />

and shall not include operator training."<br />
