Essential equipment
This procedure only deals with removing - refitting the
secondary brake cables.
The primary brake cable cannot be removed. It is sold
complete with the automatic parking brake control unit
(see 37B, Electronic parking brake, Control unit:
Removal - Refitting, page 37B-3) .
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Switch on the + after ignition feed.
a Release the parking brake using the handle.
a Switch off the ignition.
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery : Removal -
Refitting) (80A, Battery).
a Unclip the anchorage guard.

a Remove the primary cable (2) from the anchorage.
a Remove the secondary cables (3) from the anchorage.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART

a Refit the secondary cables to the anchorage.
a Note the brake cable routing for refitting.

a Remove the bolts (1) from the brake cable anchorage
support.
a Clip on the secondary cables.
a Refit the primary cable to the anchorage
a Clip on the anchorage guard.
a Refit the anchorage on the rear axle.
