REFITTING<br />

WARNING<br />

The switch must be replaced if the brake pedal<br />

position switch piston is extracted completely.<br />

WHEN REMOVING AND REFITTING OR<br />

REPLACING THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH<br />

WARNING<br />

The switch must be replaced if handling of the piston<br />

results in three adjustments being made.<br />

REMOVAL<br />

WARNING<br />

Handle the switch (3) with care.<br />

Only operate the piston (4) to adjust the dimension<br />

(X) .<br />

The switch must be replaced:<br />

- if the piston (4) is separated from the switch (3)<br />

,<br />

-if more than three adjustments to dimension (X)<br />

are necessary during the operation.<br />

a Disconnect the brake light switch connector (1) .<br />

a Turn the brake light switch (2) a quarter of a turn<br />

anti-clockwise.<br />

a Remove the brake light switch.<br />

a Measure dimension (X) of the piston (4) . If dimension<br />

(X) is less than 17 mm, carefully pull on the end<br />

of the piston to adjust the dimension (X) between the<br />

values: minimum 17 mm and maximum 18 mm.<br />

a Depress the brake pedal by hand.<br />

a Position the brake light switch on the pedal assembly.<br />

a Lock the brake light switch by turning it a quarter of<br />

a turn clockwise.<br />

a Carefully follow the return of the brake pedal.<br />

Note:<br />

The brake pedal switch has an automatic adjustment<br />

which adapts to the pedal position.<br />

The automatic adjustment makes a clicking noise<br />

when in operation.<br />

a Connect the connector.<br />
