Brake pedal bell crank rod: Removal - Refitting<br />

RIGHT-HAND DRIVE<br />

When the brake pedal is replaced, the pedal is supplied<br />

fitted with a pin.<br />

REMOVAL<br />

a Remove the brake pedal (see 37A, Mechanical<br />

component controls, Brake pedal: Removal - Refitting,<br />

page 37A-19) .<br />

a Turn the brake pedal sensor (1) a quarter of a turn<br />

anti-clockwise.<br />

a Remove:<br />

- the brake pedal sensor (1) ,<br />

- the two nuts (4) from the idler bar retaining ring,<br />

- idler bar securing ring,<br />

-the shaft (3) connecting the « brake servo pushrod<br />

and idler bar » assembly.<br />

- the circlips at the ends of the idler bar.<br />

WARNING<br />

Do not damage the clutch master cylinder pipes.<br />

a Remove the idler bar through the passenger side of<br />

the vehicle.<br />

REFITTING<br />

a To refit, proceed in the reverse order of removal.<br />

a If replacing the pedal, (see 37A, Mechanical component<br />

controls, Brake pedal: Removal - Refitting,<br />

page 37A-19) .<br />

a Adjust the brake pedal position switch (see 37A, Mechanical<br />

component controls, Brake pedal<br />

switch: Removal - Refitting, page 37A-31) .<br />
