I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION<br />

a parts always to be replaced: Steering shaft yoke<br />

bolt (13,04,01,07).<br />

parts always to be replaced: Steering shaft yoke<br />

nut (13,04,01,08).<br />

parts always to be replaced: Steering wheel bolt<br />

(13,04,01,09).<br />

Note:<br />

When replacing an NSK type steering column on<br />

vehicles not equipped with ESP, do not remove<br />

the steering wheel angle sensor located on the<br />

new steering column.<br />

a When refitting, the steering column must stay in place<br />

using the retainers (11) ,<br />

a Push and pull on the electric power-assisted steering<br />

computer power and signal connectors to check<br />

that they are properly secured (risk of loss of assistance).<br />

Note:<br />

The steering wheel should enter the splines<br />

freely (the splines have foolproofing devices).<br />

Do not damage the foolproofing splines.<br />

Note:<br />

- Do not refit the housing.<br />

-On a new steering column, the universal joint<br />

cam nut is pre-fitted.<br />
