REFITTING<br />

a Adjust the axle assemblies.<br />

WARNING<br />

Program the torque and angle sensor using the<br />

diagnostic tool.<br />

Note:<br />

It is essential to initialise the xenon bulb system<br />

(see MR 364, Electrical equipment, 80C,<br />

Xenon bulbs).<br />

Adjust the headlights.<br />

a Always replace washer (3) with a new one.<br />

a Refit:<br />

- the stop (3) (13 mm thick),<br />

- the axial ball joint (4) (specific length: 230 mm).<br />

a Torque tighten the axial ball joint (80 N.m) using<br />

the tool (Dir. 1305-01).<br />

a Coat the following parts with lithium grease:<br />

- the steering rack,<br />

- the axial ball joint.<br />

a Refit:<br />

- the gaiter,<br />

- the metal clip,<br />

- the new plastic clip, the same as the original fitting,<br />

- the lock nut,<br />

- the ball joint housing.<br />

a Retighten the track rod end housing by the number<br />

of rotations noted during removal.<br />

a Refit the track rod end.<br />

a Tighten to torque:<br />

- the wheel alignment adjusting lock nut (53<br />

N.m),<br />

- the track rod end nut (37 N.m),<br />

- the wheel mounting bolts (130 N.m).<br />

WARNING<br />

Connect the battery, starting with the positive terminal;<br />

carry out the necessary programming (see<br />

80A, Battery, Battery: Removal - Refitting).<br />

a Torque tighten the battery cover bolts (4 N.m).<br />
