a The following parts must be replaced:<br />

- the seal with the metal ring (8) ,<br />

- the mechanism (9) ,<br />

- the retaining nut (10) ,<br />

- the cap (11) .<br />

a If necessary, replace:<br />

- the coloured marker (12) .<br />

a Make sure that the sensor is correctly positioned on<br />

the wheel rim:<br />

- figure 1 = fitted incorrectly,<br />

- figure 2 = fitted correctly.<br />

a Position the sensor in the valve opening, checking<br />

that the seal is attached all around the edge of the<br />

opening.<br />

Note:<br />

After using a tyre repair aerosol, remove the product<br />

residue from the valve with a dry cloth or air<br />

gun before refitting it on the wheel rim.<br />

a Manually tighten the retaining nut, holding the pressure<br />

sensor in contact with the rim.<br />

a For hinged tyre pressure monitor valves, gently<br />

press the cap towards the centre of the wheel, keeping<br />

the sensor support on the rim to modify the valve/sensor<br />

angle to the rim profile.<br />

Tighten the nut manually.<br />

a Tighten to the following torques:<br />

- the tyre pressure monitor rigid sensor retaining<br />

nut (7.5 Nm),<br />

- the tyre pressure monitor hinged sensor retaining<br />

nut (8.5 Nm).<br />

a Refit the tyres (see 35A, Wheels and tyres, Tyres:<br />

Removal - Refitting, page 35A-8) .<br />

a Balance the wheels (see 35A, Wheels and tyres,<br />

Wheel: Balancing, page 35A-4) .<br />
