Run flat tyres: Repair<br />

REPAIR AFTER PUNCTURE OR FLAT RUNNING<br />

WARNING<br />
No repair can be carried out without removing<br />
the tyre and support.<br />
a Remove the tyre and the support (consulting the corresponding<br />
method).<br />
a With a rag, remove most of the gel present in the<br />
tyre and the support.<br />
a Inspect the inside of the tyre to detect any sign of the<br />
following possible types of damage:<br />
- chafing or overheating marks on the inner rubber<br />
characteristic of prolonged running at an inadequate<br />
pressure,<br />
- detachment of rubber or plies,<br />
- visible or deformed bead wires,<br />
- damage to the bead laying bare the plies.<br />
a Inspect the support to detect any sign of the following<br />
possible types of damage:<br />
- missing pieces;<br />
- cracks in the partitions or the crown,<br />
- visible blistering.<br />

WARNING<br />
Be sure to replace any components damaged in<br />
any of the specified ways.<br />
If the tyre is not damaged in any of the specified<br />
ways, it may be repaired by a PRP (tyre repair<br />
patch) on condition that the perforations or holes<br />
meet the following conditions:<br />
-on the sidewalls, the perforation must be less than<br />
3 mm, up to speed code T inclusive (codes H, V,<br />
W, Y and Z with a perforated sidewall must be replaced),<br />
-in the crown region for perforations below 6 mm for<br />
all speed codes.<br />
WARNING<br />
Hot repair is strictly prohibited.<br />
a Refit the tyre and support (consult the corresponding<br />
method).<br />
a Inflate the tyre. The pressure values given in the manuals<br />
and Technical Notes are values for a fully laden<br />
vehicle or for motorway travel.<br />
The tyre inflation pressure must be checked when<br />
cold.<br />
Note:<br />
Always use a source of dry compressed air.<br />
