Protecting Our Shared Assets
We must only use Company property or assets for legitimate
business purposes. Exceptions to this principle—allowing
personal use of Company assets—may only occur in limited
circumstances where permitted by Company policy. It is also
important to remember that our facilities and property may be
inspected at any time. These may include:
u Computer systems
u Telephone records
u Email records
u Internet usage
u Facilities
u Funds
u Business documents
u Offices and other workspaces
Generally, we may not keep Company assets should our
employment with Crawford come to an end.
Confidential—or proprietary—information is another type
of asset that we must protect at all times. “Confidential
information” refers to any information of a restricted
or secret nature belonging to our:
u Company
u Clients
u Third-party business partners
u Competitors
When dealing with any such information, we must comply with
applicable privacy laws and regulations, as well as agreements
with clients governing data protection.
Examples of confidential information include:
u Business plans
u Client lists and information
u Technical information
u Marketing and strategic plans
u Terms and conditions, rates, or fees offered to certain clients
u Any information entrusted to the Company by others
u The personal information of claimants and insured persons
