Lottery Services WINNER AWARENESS Satisfying Lottery customers (Players and Retailers), is the key to the Lottery's success. The goal of the Winner Awareness Program is to publicize the winners and create Lottery excitement. Lottery posters of the winners are mailed to the Retailers that sell the winning ticket over $599. We strongly suggest that you display these posters. Your players will associate buying WINNING tickets with your store. When a Jackpot winner has purchased a ticket from your store, the Lottery sends a press release to the local media (radio, TV, newspaper) for publicity. It is suggested you include Lottery winners in your advertising. Display pictures of winners or request additional signage to inform customers of the winner at your location. Signage has proven to increase sales and is available at no charge from the Lottery. Lottery Services SPECIAL EVENTS The Lottery has a Special Events program to focus Lottery excitement in Retailer locations. In addition to game launches there are several Retailer events where the Lottery would be a great attraction. Once a year every business has an event that they should celebrate. The anniversary of the years they have been in business comes every year to every business. This is a good opportunity to have a sale or event. Other reasons include Grand Openings, Dollar Daze, Spring Fever, July 4th Blast, Back to School, and the Holidays. It never ends! Involvement from your local radio and newspaper plus the Lottery will contribute to the event’s success. Reserve the day and time for the Lottery to be part of your event by calling the Retailers Hotline at 1.800.242.7782. When you schedule a Special Event in your establishment and you want to use Lottery costumes and props, call the Retailer Hotline at 1.800.242.7782 to check availability and reserve the costume of your choice. The Lottery has a presence at several statewide events, such as the Wisconsin Grocers Association, WPMCA Convention, various summer festivals, the Wisconsin State Fair, Countryfest and others. Special Event staff looks forward to working with you to enhance awareness of the Lottery in your business.
