Clooney, one of the world’s leading comparative-theology scholars, will become the Parkman Professor of Divinity and Professor of Comparative Theology at Harvard Divinity School, effective July 1, 2005, Dean William A. Graham has announced. Clooney, a Roman Catholic priest and a member of the Society of Jesus, is currently Professor of Comparative Theology at Boston College, where he has taught since 1984. His primary area of scholarship has been Hindu-Christian studies, and he is the author of many articles and books in that area, as well as in comparative theology more generally. His book Divine Mother, Blessed Mother: Hindu Goddesses and the Virgin Mary has just been published by Oxford University Press, and Hindu God, Christian God: How Reason Helps Break Down the Boundaries between Religions was published by Oxford in 2001. We also had the pleasure of the company of many wives and significant others. Hope to see more people at the next event. Herbie DiFonzo has been chosen to give the Fall 2005 Distinguished Faculty Lecture at Hofstra University. His topic will be “The Surprising Unreliability of DNA Evidence: A Tale of Bad Labs and Good Statutes of Limitations.” Bert Sarmiento’s granddaughter Alicia turned 4 on May 9, while his grandson Christian turned 2 on February 25. Jack Martin’s son scored his first goal in a youth hockey league in Elmsford. The coach of Jack’s son’s team is none other than Larry Vitale (Regis ’80). 1971 Roger P. Davies, 887 Park Ave., Huntington, NY 11743, mdavies1@optonline.net Bob Kelly took 1st place in Rutgers Law-Newark’s David Cohn Appellate Advocacy Competition, and will lead a team representing RU-N in the National Appellate Advocacy competition in the fall. Bob also had the pleasure of seeing his nephew Tom Di Napoli (son of his sister Anne and Lou Di Napoli, ‘74), along with the other members of a blues band called “The Joliets,” take 1st place in a section of the Jersey Shore Battle of the Bands in April. Regians wishing to cheer them on in the next stage in June should contact Lou. Mike Battiston showed Bob a DVD of Mike’s daughter Susanna’s star turn as Adelaide in “Guys and Dolls” this year (Mike played in the orchestra)- looks like the girl inherited both parents’ musical and comedic genes. And Frank Kelly will no doubt be glad to show you a similar recording of his Moira’s upcoming performance as Nancy in “Oliver!” Andy Schilling and his family have returned to northern Virginia this summer after a three year tour at the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, Norway. They will be in the U.S. for a year while Andy studies Polish at the Foreign Service Institute. Then, in 2006, they are off to Warsaw where Andy will be the Embassy’s Press Attaché. Doug Redosh’s newest avocation is playing keyboards in a rock band, the Bottom Feeders. He had a heart valve replaced in January, then underwent a kidney transplant in May. Recovery seems to be going well. He’s looking forward to returning to work in the not-too-distant future as a senior editor in institutional marketing for investment firm Alliance Capital Management, where he’s been for the past 11 years. Meanwhile, his son Matthew is heading into junior year at Regis, along with the sons of Tony Sollecito and Bill Driscoll. City Council to become the first Director of the newly created Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (This is D.C.’s juvenile justice system). Mark Kolakowski’s website River2u.com, for which he is a principal content writer, is attracting increasing amounts of traffic. After starting to play hockey again last year after a 10+ year layoff, Mark has regularly played 3-4 times a week. An investor group led by prominent boxing promoter and entertainment entrepreneur Lou DiBella of DiBella Entertainment has purchased the Norwich Navigators Double-A baseball tem. DiBella is the managing partner and new president of the Norwich Navigators, the San Francisco Giants Double A Eastern League affiliate.

Wife Madeline has been recovering from brain tumor, meningitis, and heart attack over the last eighteen months. Rough times, but things are looking better. 1980 William G. Bob writes, “She’s a beautiful daughter to me and wife Jean.” Rich MacEwen recently relocated his wife Mary Lou and their daughter Antonia Valentina to Trumbull, CT. After 6 years of commuting from Carmel, NY to the office in Shelton CT, the motivation was pure and simple - Rich did not have enough time with his daughter (aka, “Peanut”) at the end of the work day. Now he’s about 15 minutes from the office and enjoying every extra minute of quality time with the family. All’s well and the whole family - including Mary Lou’s Mom Clara - are settled in and just celebrated Antonia’s 2nd birthday. Hope everyone is well and healthy. Pax vobiscum! What a Great event! Certainly GREAT to see those that could make it! We really enjoyed returning to alma mater for our 20th reunion and seeing you all. Classmates came from Wellesley, MA, Cambridge, MA, Groveland, MA, Burlington, CT, Kensington, MD, Houston, TX, Miami, FL, Evanston, IL, Highland, CA, Telluride, Colorado and others made the trip in from their tri-state homes. Please join us in thanking the Regis Alumni Office for all the planning and preparation that went into the day. The liturgy, the tour (the school has changed hasn’t it - all for the better we might add) the food and spirits (GREAT JOB Antonio from Divino’s Restaurant located on 81 st St. and Second Ave - we are counting on a freebee for the plug Antonio), and of course, the company - ALL TOP NOTCH. Those of you that could not make it - know YOU WERE MISSED. The 25th is right around the corner - so block out April and May in 2010 on your calendars. There are plenty of opportunities for us all to get together whether in a formal setting (Jug Night) or an informal setting (Sully’s Annual Happy Hour. If you are coming to town, let us know, we will try and hook up. May ours be the noble heart - no matter how old we get and let us remember the gift that is Regis. Let’s continue to treasure it (the education, the experience and the friendships) and share it with others.
