Annual Regis High School
Golf Outing will again be
held at Westchester Hills
Golf Club in White Plains,
New York on Monday,
September 20. This year we are honoring
one of the long time pillars of the Regis
community by re-naming the event after
Father Stephen V. Duffy, S.J. Father Duffy
began his teaching career at Regis in 1946,
and when the “Bukidnon Bookie” (Steve’s
self-given moniker) collected every last
“betting slip”, it was over 50 years later.
Father Duffy is now enjoying retirement
on the Fordham University campus where

he makes sure to keep his swing almost as
sharp as his Latin and Greek. The Stephen
V. Duffy Golf Tournament will feature some
signifi cant changes from tournaments in
year’s past. Participants will still enjoy great
food, golf and raffl e prizes, along with a
chance to win a new 2005 Volvo. Every
participant is also automatically entered to
win a chance to putt for $5,000 cash or hit a
hole in one for $50,000 cash. The Grand Prize
raffl e drawing, to be announced during the
evening reception, will be roundtrip airfare,
six night accommodations and four rounds
of golf for two in Ireland. I will look forward to
seeing you out on the links on September 20
for a great day!
