Predictable contacts with OptraMatrix ® selectively thinned band with unique window Selectively thinned matrix band (10 µm) for tighter contacts OptraMatrix Conventional Conventional circular matrix sectional matrix The new OptraMatrix bands are selectively thinned on the side of the cavity. This thin area allows tighter and broader proximal contacts to be achieved, as the tightness of the contact is directly related to the thinness of the matrix material between the teeth! There is no need to make space by forcing the adjacent teeth apart using wedges. 0 + 10 µm = 10 µm 50 + 50 µm = 100 µm 0 + 40 µm = 40 µm Window for close contact surfaces The matrix bands feature a window on the opposite, uninvolved side of the cavity. Therefore, the natural contact of a two-surface cavity remains intact during the treatment, preventing counterproductive micro-movements of the tooth to be treated. The matrix has a selectively thinned contact area (10 µm) to reduce the amount of matrix between the teeth during the treatment procedure. The special shape of OptraMatrix achieves an excellent cervical seal and allows the matrix to automatically adapt to the adjacent tooth. The stable basic thickness of the matrix is 45 µm (normal basic wall thickness) Thanks to the window, the existing contact on the uninvolved side remains intact during the treatment. Controlled positioning of the contact The contact can be created in the upper third of the proximal surface so that the entire restoration imitates the original natural situation much more closely than if conventional matrices are used.
