The new OptraMatrix bands are selectively<br />

thinned <strong>on</strong> the side of the cavity. This thin<br />

area allows tighter and broader proximal<br />

c<strong>on</strong>tacts to be achieved, as the tightness of<br />

the c<strong>on</strong>tact is directly related to the thinness<br />

of the matrix material between the teeth!<br />

The matrix bands feature a window <strong>on</strong> the<br />

opposite, uninvolved side of the cavity.<br />

Therefore, the natural c<strong>on</strong>tact of a two-surface<br />

cavity remains intact during the treatment,<br />

preventing counterproductive<br />

micro-movements of the<br />

tooth to be treated.<br />

The matrix has a selectively<br />

thinned c<strong>on</strong>tact area (10 µm)<br />

to reduce the amount of matrix<br />

between the teeth during the<br />

treatment procedure.<br />
