Aircraft seating environment Commercial aircraft interiors have maintained a similar format for decades. This project set out to explore the possibilities. My design focuses around the user experience; by enabling the seats to rotate, personal space and sociability is customisable to every passenger. The fixed shell seat creates an elegant form whilst reducing weight. A particular focus was to encompass the journey as a whole. Ambient lighting and changing colours were researched to give the passenger a truly immersive and comfortable journey. The Calla Lily Rocker makes the transition from their pre-bedtime routine to sleeping as smooth as possible by integrating a nursing chair with a cot.
