MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURE : For 1 and ½ lit. Ghee CFC The corrugated boxes shall be manufactured in the shape of cubical / rectangular parallelepiped. The blanks shall be properly creased or slotted so that after assembly no holes shall be left at the corners. The flaps on the boxes shall be capable of being folded at an angle of 180 degree along the line of creasing without fracture of board of facing. TECHNICAL: 1. Lap Joints: The manufacturers joint shall be made by a lap. The width of lap shall not be less than 30 mm. The joints shall be stappled with 7 stapples with 2 x 2 and 1 x 3. The stapples shall be centrally located alongwith the lap and may be either straight or at the angle of 45 degree. The stapple shall be placed in such a way that they do not fall more than 50 mm. apart from each other in each row and first and last not farther than 25 mm. from beginning and ended joint respectively. The stapples shall be made of mild steel, galvanised 24 BGX 13 mm. crown x 13 mm. width and shall be of good quality. 2. Flutes: The type of flutes shall be narrow(B) with a height of minimum 2.4 mm. and maximum 2.9 mm. The number of flutes per 30 cm shall be minimum 52 maximum 56. 3. Adhesive: Adhesive used should be starch based on dextrin capable of firmly adhering the various plies together. Silicates or highly alkaline adhesive will not be used. The adhesive used shall be adequately resistant to moisture and all climate conditions in the country. The minimum quantity of glue shall be 20 gms. on dry wt. basis. 4. Tolerance limits : A tolerance of + 3 mm and - 1 mm in case of dimension and ± 7% in case of grammage of paper is permissible. 5. Bursting Strength: When tested in accordance with standard ISI method (IS:1060/Part-I/1966) the average bursting strength of 3 ply single wall corrugated fiber board shall be not less than 5 kg./cm2. The average shall be based on atleast five determinations on each face. 6. Compression strength: When tested by standard ASIM method but conditioned at a temperature of 27 ± 2 ºC and 5 pH, the average compression strength of the 3 Ply single walled fiber box shall be not less than 120 kg.
