On Friday, May 10th, I had a lovely experience while driving the tram.
I’ve been driving it for more than four years and have made new friends,
reconnected with old ones and had many amazing experiences and
strange coincidences ... I even met the man who almost married my
wife-to-be 60 years ago. But, this one beats them all. Cheryl Carpenter
called me from the rotunda to come and pick up a “special” passenger
who needed a ride to the maternity unit. As I pulled up to the main
lobby, Cheryl came out, guiding the little lady. They explained that she
needed to get to the maternity unit to meet her new and 20th greatgrandchild.
Wow! This brought back memories of taking one young
and very pregnant lady to maternity who was 10 days “late.” To my
relief, she was just making an appointment to have a cesarean section
done the next day. I had visions of delivering a baby in the tram.

a loved one or friend that may
be deceased. What better way to
memorialize them.

Why single out just one? Across the board, D-RMSL volunteers help
make the Hospital as wonderful and caring as it is. If one must be in
the hospital, this is the one to visit. The many volunteers are just as
professional as the seasoned staff. Thank you.

51st Debbie-Rand
Anniversary Luncheon
Join us Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 11:30am to 1:30pm
for a most enjoyable event to celebrate the Debbie-Rand Memorial
Service League's 51st Anniversary. The luncheon, held at Boca West
Country Club, begins with tropical punch and appetizers, and is
followed by a three-course lunch and fashion show, compliments of
the Debbie-Rand Thrift Shoppe and featuring our very own volunteers.
The island atmosphere will be enhanced by a Pan Paradise steel band
duo. Raffles and a grand prize drawing will conclude this enjoyable
event. Tickets are available at the Volunteer Office and Thrift Shoppe.
