to Watch in 2009 by Imaging<br />

Technology News, joining such<br />

preeminent institutions as Baylor<br />

University and Vanderbilt Medical<br />

Centers.<br />

• Lynn Cancer Institute installed<br />

the first AccuBoost breast cancer<br />

radiotherapy system in South<br />

Florida. Rashmi Benda, MD, a<br />

radiation oncologist at BRCH, was<br />

instrumental in the development of<br />

the new technology, which delivers<br />

an additional dose of radiation<br />

accurately and reliably for breast<br />

cancer patients.<br />

• The Harvey & Phyllis Sandler<br />

Pavilion, housing the Lynn Cancer<br />

Institute and our outpatient Imaging<br />

Center, won a Building of America<br />

Award and was featured in Real<br />

Estate and Construction Review -<br />

Florida Edition.<br />

• The Foundation funded the<br />

purchase of Endobronchial<br />

Ultrasonography (EBUS). The<br />

technology allows the physician to<br />

perform real time biopsies of lymph<br />

nodes under accurate ultrasound<br />

guidance as well as other<br />

mediastinal masses and accurately<br />

stage lung cancer.<br />
