It is hard to imagine a time when Boca Raton did not have a community
hospital. But, almost half a century ago, the nearest hospital was more than 35
minutes away. In 1962, one family’s tragedy touched our community forever,
revealing the need for accessible health care close to home. Five years later,
Boca Raton Community Hospital, “The Miracle on Meadows Road,” was built by
the community, for the community – ensuring that the finest quality health care
would be available in Boca Raton for generations to come.
Throughout the Hospital’s history, the generous philanthropy of our community
