Things To Do in San Dimas
If you are looking for things to do in San Dimas, you
needn’t look far. A variety of community events take
place throughout the year. In January the Chamber of
Commerce hosts the Citizen of the Year Banquet to
honor residents for outstanding contributions to the
city. The Parks & Recreation Department conducts
Easter egg hunts and Easter coloring contests along with
the annual Family Festival and the Spring Recital for the
performing arts programs. The Festival of Arts puts on
the nationally recognized Western Art Show in April and
the Wild Life Art Show in October. From April through
September, you can enjoy the San Dimas Farmers’
Market every Wednesday evening.
During the summer, Music In The Park provides
entertainment for the whole family. San Dimas High
School offers some of the best in high school sports.
The first Friday in August, the Chamber of
Commerce helps the City celebrate its birthday
with a community BBQ. With deep-pit barbequed
beef, all the fixings, ice cream and birthday cake, the
celebration has the feel of an old-fashioned picnic.
Free rides and activities for the children, and lively
music for listening and dancing, provide a great
evening of family fun.
A citywide western spirit prevails during Western Days weekend, held the first weekend in
October. Western Days, hosted by the San Dimas Chamber of Commerce, includes a parade
and band competition, lots of craft and food vendors,
a Native American Pow Wow, cowboy reenactments
complete with shootouts and the Little Miss San
Dimas contest. The San Dimas Rodeo conducts their
PRCA sanctioned Rodeo the same weekend.
Year’s-end is signaled by the arrival of the City’s
Halloween Carnival and the HolidayFest, which includes
a real mountain of snow for the kids to sled on and a
traditional Christmas Tree Lighting with Santa.
These events make San Dimas a wonderful place to
live, work & play.
