Rome has an almost timeless magic. Magnificent
and overwhelming ancient monuments and
artistic wonders include the mighty Colosseum,
St. Peter’s Basilica and the celebrated Sistine

On the flip side of the coin, Rome’s contemporary
flair is reflected in its sophisticated cafe society
and designer boutiques.
Hotel Nova Domus ****
The four star Quality Hotel Nova Domus is just a
short walk from the Vatican and is an ideal base to
relax after a busy day’s shopping and sightseeing. All
of the bedrooms are decorated in contempory style
and have air-conditioning (summer only), private
facilities, satellite TV, hairdryer and safety deposit box.
Amenities of the hotel include a spacious lobby, lounge
bar, a restaurant and a lift to all floors. Independent
sightseeing could not be easier as the underground

Having done your duty to culture by exploring
the Forums and Amphitheatres and being awed
by the Pantheon, after you’ve wandered through
the breathtaking St. Peter’s Basilica and thrown Excel
a coin in the Trevi Fountain, you can pause to
experience the charm of the Roman evening.
Find a cafe at twilight and watch the shades of
pink turn to gold and copper before night finally
falls. This is when another Rome comes alive;
restaurants and cafes grow more animated,
especially if you’ve found one on an ancient
hidden piazza or along a narrow alley deep in
Trastevere, a fashionable district on the left bank
of the River Tiber.
Eating out is one of the great pleasures of any
trip to Italy. From simple, family run Trattorias,
Rosticerias and Pizzerias to sophisticated
restaurants, you will be astounded at the
seemingly unlimited variety of places where
you can eat, with choices to suit all budgets and
tastes. One thing you can be sure of – wherever
Italians eat, you will find good food!

This beautiful and romantic city of canals,
bridges, fine buildings, art treasures, gondolas
and palaces, is one of the most amazing cities in
the world and one which can truly be described

easily take a vaporetto (water bus - approximate

convenience we can pre-book return transfers from
Treviso by private car to Mestre or Piazzale Roma at

Hotel Delfino Mestre ****
The Hotel Delfino is a four star hotel located in
Venice Mestre, with a good choice of shops, bars and
restaurants all around, and from where it’s quick and
easy to get into Venice centre. Outside the hotel is
the bus stop from where, in less than 10 minutes, the
frequent local buses take you over the causeway to
Piazzale Roma, from where vaporetti depart every few
minutes to St. Mark’s Square.
This contemporary style hotel features bedrooms with

Vaporetti (water buses) sail along the Grand
Canal and also across the Venetian Lagoon to
the outlying islands. It really is easy to explore
Venice on foot but if you really want to see it in
style - take a gondola!

restaurants and trattorias.
There’s bound to be more sights you want to
see in Venice, but also why not visit some of the
quaint islands in the Venetian Lagoon?
Perhaps round off an ideal day back in Venice,

Florence is the art capital of Europe and is
synonymous with the names Leonardo da Vinci,
Michelangelo and Botticelli to name just a few.
Florence boasts beautiful architecture wherever

Signoria, which for centuries was the centre of
Florence’s civil life and government. Standing

the Uffizi Museum, which is home to the largest
collection of Renaissance art in the world.
Florence is great for shopping too! You Massimi can Park
pick up lots of bargains in the many shops and
markets. The city is noted for its hand crafted
leather goods - from wallets and purses to shoes
and jackets, high quality Florentine leatherwork
can be found in the artisan shops throughout the
historical centre.
Tuscany produces Italy’s best olive oil and
some great wine - no meal in Florence would be
complete without a glass or two of local wine to
enhance the experience! Florence is right next
to the Chianti region and full bodied reds are
the prized accompaniment to everything from
Spaghetti Bolognese to “Bistecca Fiorentina”- a

The Amalfi Coast has been long famed for
its enticing mild climate and the stunning
coastal scenery will take your breath away. It
has an abundance of olive groves, terraced
vineyards, lemon trees, flourishing gardens
and a coastline dotted with chic resorts
and quaint fishing villages. Close by is the
Sorrento Peninsula, the Bay of Naples and
the beautiful Isle of Capri, which you can
also explore on our included sightseeing
excursions, all of which are within easy reach
of our resort. Bargain hunters will find a
wide variety of fascinating shops selling local
handicrafts including inlaid woodwork, lace
and hand carved cameos.
In early and late summer, the Amalfi Coast is
warm and sunny, without the more intense
heat of high summer. This really is the ideal
time to visit – perfect for enjoying the sights
and without the busy crowds of the high
season too.
Minori and Maiori are two of the charming
resorts we use on the Amalfi Coast. They
have small beaches and are sheltered by the
Lattari Mountains, which form a dramatic
backdrop to the resorts. If you prefer to take
things easy, then the Amalfi Coast is ideal
for you too, with pavement cafes where
you can relax over a refreshing cool drink.
The sparkling sea is inviting and the palm-
lined promenades are ideal for a relaxing
after dinner stroll. Our resorts are typically
southern Italian and have a good choice of
bars, pavement cafes, restaurants, shops and
boutiques.
We have reserved accommodation for the
holiday in family owned 3 star hotels such
as the Hotel Santa Lucia in Minori, the
Hotel Sole in Maiori, or similar.
You will be warmly welcomed and will
enjoy comfortable accommodation, with all
bedrooms having en-suite private bathroom,
TV and telephone. Accommodation is
reserved on a half board basis, with a
continental breakfast each morning and a
three course table d’hote dinner each evening

Rome
All Excursions Included
The Eternal City of Rome, once the centre
of the civilised world and with a continuous
civilisation of 2,700 years, is packed with
wonderful and awe inspiring architecture and
monuments from throughout the centuries.
Rome is without doubt the most fascinating
of all Italy’s historical cities and there is,
perhaps, more to see in Rome than in any
other city in the world. The “city within a
city”, the Vatican, is the cradle of the Catholic
Church and a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica is an
absolute must, along with the Colosseum and
tossing a coin in the Trevi Fountain.
In the Rome region accommodation is
reserved on a bed and continental breakfast
basis. Our carefully selected 3 star hotels are
usually in the area between the city and the
coast, and are convenient for the airport.
Capri Minori

Our Holiday at a Glance
Day 1
Depart on your flight to Rome. On arrival we’ll be met
by our tour manager and board the coach for the
transfer to our resort on the Amalfi Coast. Travelling
south on the ‘Autostrada del Sole’, we drive through
the Frascati vineyards before passing the Monastery
of Monte Cassino, famous for the battle during the
Second World War. We continue through the fertile
hills of Campania to the Bay of Naples, in the shadow
of the Volcano Vesuvius, and on to the Bay of Salerno
and our resort on the Amalfi Coast, where we stay for
the next six nights. After settling into our comfortable
hotel, and perhaps time for making your first
discoveries in the resort, dinner will be served.
Day 2 to 6
At leisure in our Mediterranean resort. During our
stay we have arranged a superb programme of
included excursions and sightseeing trips, enabling
you to see the very best that this beautiful region of
Italy has to offer. There is such a lot to see and do
during your stay, and we do hope that you will join
us around and about to discover this beautiful region
of Italy and to make the very most of your holiday.
Our itinerary has been carefully planned and there’s
also lots of time at leisure, enabling you to relax in
our resort or perhaps see some more of the sights.
Of course, our knowledgeable tour manager will be
on hand throughout the holiday to give any help and
advice which may be needed.
Day 7
This morning after breakfast our coach takes us to
Rome, arriving in the early afternoon. We’ll meet our
local guide for the included city sightseeing tour of
both Ancient and Modern Rome, seen mainly from the
comfort of our coach, although some walking will be
involved. Rome stands on seven hills and whilst it has
only been the capital of Italy for just over a century,
the city is packed with wonderful and awe inspiring
architecture and monuments from 27 centuries!
These include the splendours of St. Peter’s Basilica
in the Vatican, the Circus Maximus, the Palatine Hill,
the Forum and of course the Colosseum. We will also
see Piazza Venezia with its huge ’Wedding Cake’
monument to Victor Emanuel and the afternoon
would not be complete without a visit to the Trevi
Fountain, of ‘Three Coins’ fame. After the excursion
there will be some free time before our coach takes
us to our hotel for our overnight stay.
Day 8
Today, at the appropriate time, our coach will transfer
us to Rome airport to take the return flight to the UK.
N.B. flights which arrive in the afternoon will stay the first night in the Rome
area and the last night on the Amalfi Coast
Positano
The Isle of Capri
A fabulous day is in store as we cruise across the
Bay of Salerno to one of the most beautiful islands in
the world - Capri. This magical island has been home
to Emperors, artists and poets over the centuries
and is today, perhaps, Italy’s most exclusive holiday
destination and needs little introduction. On arrival
in Marina Grande we take the funicular railway, which
climbs through colourful gardens and past pretty,
pastel coloured villas, up to Capri village. Here we will
have a short walk through the meandering streets
to the Augustus Gardens, which overlook Gracie
Fields’ villa ‘The Song of the Sea’. This afternoon is at
leisure, so why not enjoy a cappuccino in one of the
stylish pavement cafes in the ‘Piazza’ whilst you plan
what to do; a visit to Anacapri or perhaps the Blue
Grotto are a must or, for the less energetic, there are
some fabulous shops and boutiques to browse in.
Sorrento and the Amalfi Drive
Sorrento is set in an incredibly beautiful landscape,
on a cliff top overlooking the sparkling Bay of Naples.
It’s a popular resort which is a cluster of old houses,
lovely gardens and grand hotels. Bargain hunters
will find a wide variety of fascinating shops selling
local handicrafts including inlaid woodwork, lace
and hand carved cameos. We leave Sorrento in the
afternoon and make our way to the southern side
of the Sorrento Peninsula and the world famous
Amalfi Drive. Known as one of the most spectacular
coastal roads in Europe, the scenery along the Amalfi
Drive is absolutely breathtaking. There are different
views around every corner as we make our way past
beautiful Positano, which seemingly cascades down to
the sea, and through olive, orange and lemon groves,
which grow side by side. We also visit the quaint town
of Amalfi, which used to be an important Maritime
Republic. Today, Amalfi is characterised by small
fishermens’ cottages and tightly packed whitewashed
villas, and is overlooked by the beautiful 13th century
Cathedral with its mosaic facade. The resort has
a splendid promenade and the maze of narrow
streets leading through to the Cathedral offer a good
selection of craft shops, boutiques and pavement
cafes.
Ravello
Ravello is a delightful village nestling some 350
metres above the sea on the hillside. Ravello is
reached by driving along the “Valley of the Dragons”
through deep ravines and around the hills, a fantastic
5-mile journey with twists and turns as you climb
steadily to this perfect village. From the terrace in
the gardens of the Villa Rufolo, which was the setting
for Wagner’s ‘Parsifal’, there are some magnificent
views over the Bay of Salerno.

Forte dei Marmi

Forte dei Marmi and Lido di Camaiore are
two of the charming resorts we use on the
Versilian Riviera. They have wide, sandy
beaches and are sheltered by the Apuane
Alps, which form a dramatic backdrop to the
resorts. The sparkling sea is inviting and
the palm fringed promenades are
ideal for a relaxing after dinner

Day 1
Our holiday begins with the flight to Pisa. On arrival
our tour manager will meet you and accompany you
on the short transfer to our hotel, for a seven night
stay on a half board basis.
Day 2 - 7
During our stay we have arranged an included
programme of excursions and visits, all taken at a
leisurely pace.
Florence
The cradle of the Italian Renaissance, Florence is
recognised as the art capital of the world. Built along
the banks of the River Arno and surrounded by the
Tuscan hills, it is here where you will find some of
the finest sculptures, works of art and architecture
including the magnificent Cathedral and Baptistry
with its ‘Gates of Paradise’, Giotto’s Bell Tower and
the Ponte Vecchio. We have arranged a sightseeing
tour of the city as soon as we arrive, conducted by a
local guide, to enable you to get the most from your
visit. The afternoon is then at leisure. Florence has an
excellent shopping centre with a large range of Italian
fashion, leather goods and shoes in the shops and
boutiques.
Florence
Pisa & Lucca
Pisa is world famous for its instantly recognisable
landmark, the Leaning Tower, which stands at a
seemingly impossible angle in the Square of Miracles.
No matter how many pictures you have seen of the
tower, the reality will take you by suprise and will
leave you wondering why it hasn’t toppled over!
Next to the leaning tower is the Cathedral and the
Baptistry, which is built out of the white Carrara
marble. Lucca, birthplace of Puccini, is a perfectly
preserved medieval town, hidden behind its splendid
Renaissance ramparts. It is a small, graceful town
which makes it ideal for exploring on foot and a
walk along the ramparts will reward you with lovely
views of the narrow streets, elegant Palaces and
Romanesque churches. The town is also noted for
its medieval squares, particularly the unusual oval
shaped main Piazza, which was originally a Roman
amphitheatre.
Cinque Terre
A highlight of any holiday to Italy’s Mediterranean
Riviera is a visit to the Cinque Terre, one of the
best-kept secrets of the Riviera and one of the most
unspoiled areas of the Mediterranean. The Cinque
Terre is about as beautiful a coastline as you’re likely
to find anywhere in Europe. In medieval times the
name “terra” (land) meant village and today Cinque
Terre refers to the five colourful fishing villages which
are perched precariously above the sea along this
stunning stretch of coast, with their hidden coves
nestling at the foot of dramatic cliffs. Inaccessible
by road, the villages are linked together both by
rail and via a hillside footpath which winds through
Mediterranean lemon groves, olive trees, orchards
and terraced vineyards, with spectacular vistas every
step of the way. If you prefer a more relaxing visit, we
have included a ticket for the local train, which stops
at each village. Whichever way you choose to visit
the Cinque Terre, you will see some of Italy’s most
inspiring scenery!
Cinque Terre
Portofino & Santa Margherita
Portofino, once a tiny fishing village, now the
Italian Riviera’s most exclusive resort, needs little
introduction. Portofino’s harbour is filled with the
yachts of the rich and famous and its pedestrianised
streets are lined with stylish restaurants and chic
designer boutiques. Not to be missed is a walk up to
St. George’s church and on to the lighthouse, from
which there are some fabulous views. Neighbouring
Santa Margherita dates back to Roman times and is
another old fishing village turned seaside resort. In
the latter half of the 19th century Santa Margherita
drew visitors from all over Europe, who stayed in the
elegant hotels and villas which line the promenade.
Day 8
Pisa Portofino
Today, at the appropriate time, we transfer to Pisa
airport to take the return flight to the UK

justifiably proud of its warm and

is the largest of all the Italian lakes,
being some 30 miles long and 10 miles
across at its widest point. On the
southern shores, vineyards and olive
trees are in abundance, as are orange
and lemon orchards, giving this area
a real Mediterranean flavour. In the
north the Dolomite mountains form
a breathtaking backdrop to the Lake.
The scenery here is vastly different
with sheltered bays, charming lakeside

Garda
GARDA is a bustling resort which gave the
Lake its name and which still retains the
characteristics of its historic past. Garda is in
a favoured position on the eastern shores of
the lake, where the sparkling waters broaden
and where the scenery becomes gentler.
There is a long, traffic-free promenade beside
the lake with pavement cafes, ice-cream
parlours and restaurants. The narrow streets
of the historic centre, once inhabited only by
fishermen, are now full of colourful shops and
boutiques. The fishing tradition is still thriving
and you can watch the little fishing boats
bringing in the ‘catch of the day’, which will
be the main ingredient in many of the local
restaurants and trattorias!

most part of the Lake and is one of its

Lake in one day.
Grand Dolomites Tour - Full Day
Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and invigorating air
of the spectacular Dolomites, undoubtedly the most
beautiful mountains in Italy. This is a day of endless
delights as we drive through lush green valleys
offering different views around every bend and see
snow capped mountains, spiralling Alpine passes and
picture-postcard villages with onion domed churches,
wooden gabled houses and flower decked balconies.
A traditional style hotel, the Portici is ideally
positioned in the pedestrianised central square of
Riva del Garda and moments away from the ferry
pier and the lakeside promenade. The hotel has
its own restaurant, pizzeria and bar. All bedrooms

Rialto Market or perhaps take a tour of the city by

cruise into the centre of Venice by launch is included
in the cost of the excursion.
Verona - Full Day
An enchanting excursion to visit the city made
famous by Romeo and Juliet. Life in Verona centres
around Piazza Bra and the magnificent Roman Arena,
which dates back to 100A.D. You also won’t want to
miss Juliet’s Balcony or browsing in the colourful
shops, department stores and market.

bathroom. Typical of the hotels we use are the
Hotel Rosanna in Lido di Jesolo, the Hotel Ariston
in Montecatini Terme or the Hotel Park in Lido di
Camaiore, Tuscany and the Hotel Madison in Rome,
or similar.

tickets, seven days before departure.
Our Holiday at a Glance
Day 1 UK – Italy
Our holiday begins with the flight to Pisa. On arrival
our tour manager will meet you and accompany you
on the short transfer to our hotel in Montecatini or on
the Tuscan coast, for a one night stay on a dinner, bed
and breakfast basis.
Days 2 - Pisa to Lido di Jesolo
After breakfast we set off from the hotel and head
to nearby Pisa where we will have ample time to
see one of Italy’s most famous monuments – the
amazing Leaning Tower. Built as the bell tower for
Pisa’s cathedral, the Leaning Tower enjoys a beautiful
setting in the aptly named ‘Field of Miracles’. After
our visit we make our way north over the River Po
and across the Apennines. We’ll arrive in Lido di
Jesolo by early evening, to check into our hotel,
where we stay for two nights, with dinner included.
Day 3 - Venice
This morning we sail across the lagoon to Venice.
A city of unparalleled beauty, Venice is a feast of
wonderful sights and there are few who could not
be moved by the charm that lingers over every
bridge and round every corner. The city is built on 117
islands and has 150 canals and some 400 bridges.
To introduce you to the city we have included a
short walking tour. Venice has stood the test of time
well and there are many impressive Byzantine and
Renaissance buildings and monuments waiting to be
explored. Visit St. Mark’s Square, where you will find
two of Venice’s most important buildings, the Basilica
of St Mark’s with its magnificent mosaics and the
Doges Palace, home of the city’s rulers. The Rialto
Bridge spans the Grand Canal and the Bridge of Sighs
links the Doges Palace to the prison. There are also
lots of pavement cafes, restaurants and shops to
enjoy whilst absorbing the never-ending history. We
return to our hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 4 - Venice to Rome
On our way south to the Italian capital we stop in
Orvieto, an ancient hill top town in the heart of
Umbria. Orvieto’s cathederal is a superb example of
Italian gothic archietecture, and the town is also noted
for its delicate white wine. We arrive into Rome in the
afternoon and check into our hotel Rome area hotel
for a two night stay on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 5 - Rome
Rome, with a continuous civilisation of 2,700 years,
is one of the world’s greatest cities and is packed
with wonderful and awe inspiring architecture and
monuments from throughout the centuries. Don’t
miss our included sightseeing tour, the highlights
of which are St. Peter’s in the Vatican, the Circus
Maximus, the Forum, the Palatine Hill and, of course,
the Colosseum. We’ll also see Piazza Venezia with its
huge ’Wedding Cake’ monument to Victor Emanuel
and your morning would not be complete without
a visit to the Trevi Fountain, of ‘Three Coins’ fame.
When you are ready for something to eat or drink you
will find that throughout the city there are countless
trattorias, restaurants and pavement cafes where you
can sit and relax as you watch the world go by.
You can also join our optional Rome by Night
excursion this evening.
Day 6 - Rome to Tuscany
This morning we drive along the Autostrada del Sole
through the most picturesque countryside of Tuscany,
full of splendid scenery with its Chianti vineyards,
olive groves and cypress trees, to Siena. Siena’s
narrow Gothic streets invite you to stroll and discover
the many sights including the Cathedral, the Town
Hall and the glorious ‘fan-shaped’ square of Piazza
del Campo. Leaving Siena behind, this afternoon
we check into our hotel on the Tuscan coast or
Montecatini Terme for our two night stay, with dinner
included on both evenings.
Day 7 - Florence
Florence is perhaps Italy’s most popular and most
visited city by the British traveller and today’s
excursion is another highlight of this memorable
holiday. The Cradle of the Italian Renaissance will
keep you fascinated for the whole day. Built along
the banks of the River Arno and surrounded by the
Tuscan hills, it is here where you will find some of
the finest sculptures, works of art and architecture
including the magnificent Cathedral and Baptistry
with its ‘Gates of Paradise’, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Piazza
Signoria, the Santa Croce Church and the Ponte
Vecchio. We have arranged a comprehensive morning
city sightseeing tour of Florence, conducted by a local
guide, to enable you to get the very most from your
visit. The afternoon is then at leisure in Florence,
which has an excellent shopping centre with a large
range of Italian fashions, leather goods and shoes in
the shops and boutiques. We return to our hotel in the
late afternoon.
Day 8 - Homeward Bound
Transfer to Pisa airport for the return flight to the UK.
If your flight is in the late afternoon or evening, there
will be time at leisure before leaving for the airport.
Optional Excursion
Rome by Night
Our optional excursion in Rome starts with a
traditional meal with wine, at a typical local
restaurant. En route our journey takes us to the
fashionable Via Vento and passes some of the
famous landmarks including the Colosseum, the
Forum, Baths of Caracella and Piazza Venezia with its
Reaissance Palace.

The resort of Montecatini Terme is our base
for this leisurely holiday, ideally situated
in one of Italy’s loveliest regions. Set in a

The modern resort of Montecatini Terme,

Our Hotel
We have reserved accommodation for the holiday in good
standard 3 star hotels, such as the family owned Hotel La
Pia. All of our hotels are well known to us and personally
visited.
All hotels have a restaurant and bar, with all bedrooms
having an en-suite private bathroom. Continental breakfasts
each morning and three course table d’hote dinners are
included in the price of the holiday on five evenings.

approximately seven days before departure.
Our Holiday at a Glance
Day 1 - Fly to Italy
On arrival at Pisa airport you will be met by
our representative and transfer to our hotel in
Montecatini Terme, where we stay for 7 nights. Five
dinners in the hotel and 1 dinner and 1 lunch in local
restaurants are included.
Day 2 - 7
During our stay we have arranged an included
programme of excursions and visits, all taken at a
leisurely pace.
A Taste of Tuscany
This is a truly delightful day exploring the romantic
Chianti countryside of rolling hills, broad green
valleys, medieval hilltop villages, seemingly endless
olive groves and mile upon mile of vineyards. Our
journey takes us right into the heart of Tuscany,
where we’ll visit traditional wine villages which
are seemingly untouched by time. We’ve arranged
a tasting of the rich, red wines in one of the local
cantinas and a tasting of the locally produced olive oil.
We have also included a Tuscan style lunch in a local
restaurant.
Pisa and Lucca
Pisa is world famous for its instantly recognisable
landmark, the Leaning Tower, which stands at a
seemingly impossible angle in the Square of Miracles.
No matter how many pictures you have seen of the
tower, the reality will take you by suprise and will
leave you wondering why it hasn’t toppled over!
Next to the leaning tower is the Cathedral and the
Baptistry, which is built out of the white Carrara
marble. Lucca, birthplace of Puccini, is a perfectly
preserved medieval town, hidden behind its splendid
Renaissance ramparts. It is a small, graceful town
which makes it ideal for exploring on foot and a
walk along the ramparts will reward you with lovely
views of the narrow streets, elegant Palaces and
Romanesque churches. The town is also noted for
its medieval squares, particularly the unusual oval
shaped main Piazza, which was originally a Roman
amphitheatre.
Siena and San Gimignano
Our excursion today takes us to the picturesque,
medieval walled hill top town of San Gimignano. This
afternoon our exploration of Tuscany continues as we
make our way to Siena - the ‘Jewel of Tuscany’ - for a
walking tour of one of Italy’s most enchanting cities.
Afterwards, relax with a refreshing drink at one of the
pavement cafes in the shell-shaped ‘Il Campo’ and
admire one of Italy’s finest squares, famous all over
the world for its Palio horse-race.
Florence
The cradle of the Italian Renaissance, Florence is
recognised as the art capital of the world. Built along
the banks of the River Arno and surrounded by the
Tuscan hills, it is here where you will find some of
the finest sculptures, works of art and architecture
including the magnificent Cathedral and Baptistry
with its ‘Gates of Paradise’, Giotto’s Bell Tower and
the Ponte Vecchio. We have arranged a sightseeing
tour of the city as soon as we arrive, conducted by a
local guide, to enable you to get the most from your
visit. The afternoon is then at leisure. Florence has an
excellent shopping centre with a large range of Italian
fashion, leather goods and shoes in the shops and
boutiques.
Day 8
Today, at the appropriate time, we transfer to Pisa
airport to take the return flight to the UK.

The Italian Lakes have always held a special
attraction and Lake Como, a firm favourite
with British holidaymakers, is one of Italy’s
most popular destinations. Lake Como
is Italy’s third largest lake and, from its
northern shores at the foot of the Alps to the
Lombard shores in the south, the scenery is
magnificent and full of contrasts. The soaring
snow-capped peaks in the north give way to
gentle rolling hills and colourful sub-tropical
lakeside gardens and promenades to the
south. Imagine the bright blue waters lapping
at the elegant shores, surrounded by fine
walks, imposing villas and beautiful parks and
gardens filled with exotic flowers - giving this
area a real Mediterranean flavour - and you’ve
got the picture.
All around the lake there are sheltered bays,
charming lakeside resorts and peaceful
fishing villages. There are weekly markets to
visit, shops and boutiques to browse around,
colourful gardens to explore and pavement
cafes to relax in as you watch the world go by.
We stay in the pretty resort of Cadenabbia,
which is perfectly placed on the western
shore of the lake and is ideal for enjoying
everything the lake offers. It’s easy to get
around from Cadenabbia, with lots of ferries
criss-crossing the lake from one delightful
harbour to the next, while steamers and local
buses can take you to some of the lakeside
towns and villages further along the lake.
The nearby Villa Carlotta is well worth
visiting. Built in the early 18th century, the
Villa is renowned for its beautiful gardens,
which extend over 14 acres. Inside the villa
are some superb sculptures and works of art
by Antonio Canova.
A boat trip to Bellagio, sometimes called
the ‘pearl of the lake’, is a definite “must
do”. The old town is a jumble of cobbled
lanes and stepped streets lined with stylish
boutiques, wine bars and craft shops selling
locally produced handicrafts including olive
wood carvings and woven silk. Little known
Varena, just across the lake from Bellagio, is
practically as unspoilt as its neighbour and is
an ideal village for wandering around. There
are meandering lakeside paths and the walk
up to the 13th century Monastery Villa will
reward you with some fine views over the
eastern arm of Lake Como.

however much you see, you will find that you
will want to return to beautiful Lake Como,

position directly across the road from the
lakeside in Cadenabbia, and has stunning views

the boat landing stage, where regular ferries
and steamers stop to take you to all Lake Como’s

Lake Maggiore is Italy’s second largest lake, with its
northern shores actually in Switzerland. The shores of

colourful and exotic flowers. Situated on the western
shores of Lake Maggiore, we visit Stresa, a lively
resort with narrow cobblestone streets lined with
shops, boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants, which
is sheltered by a backdrop of pine covered mountains.
From here, you can take a boat to the Borromean
Islands – Isola Bella, Isola Pescatore and Isola Madre
- where you can enjoy beautiful gardens, picturesque
hamlets and lakeside cafes.
St. Moritz and Bernina Express
Railway
A fabulous excursion featuring a scenic coach trip to
Tirano, where we board the Bernina Express train for
one of Europe’s most spectacular and breathtaking
railway journeys. The journey takes us high into the
Swiss Alps and through the unspoilt beauty of the
Bernina Pass, passing mountain rivers, snow-capped
mountains and distant glaciers as we make our way
towards the exclusive resort of St. Moritz. We’ll have
some free time in the famous ski resort of St Moritz,
with its choice of interesting shops, bars and cafes,
before returning by coach to Lake Como.
Milan
Milan is the fashion capital of Italy and the country’s
most vibrant city. Milan is noted for its splendid
Cathedral, the ‘Last Supper’ painting by Leonardo da
Vinci and the ‘La Scala’ Opera House. After seeing the
sights make sure you leave enough time to browse in
the shops in the ‘Galleria’ arcades, perhaps look for
designer brands in the elegant Via Monte Napoleone
shopping district and perhaps for enjoying a drink in
one of the pavement cafes.
Como & Lake Lugano
Lying on the southern shore of the lake, Como town
is a delightful resort with an attractive pedestrianised
centre. The historical centre is in the area around the
Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore, with its imposing
marble façade, and where there is a seemingly
endless choice of shops. The main Piazza has lots of
pavement cafes and ice cream parlours and is the
ideal place to relax after a morning’s shopping and
sightseeing. From Como we cross the nearby border
into Switzerland and on to Lake Lugano, where we
make a visit to the stylish resort of Lugano, which is
overlooked by Monte Bre.

Rome & Sorrento
This is one of our most popular holidays to
Italy and has something for everyone!
Our holiday begins with a two night stay in
Fiuggi, which gives time for a full day visit
to Rome. Fiuggi is a fashionable spa resort,
well known for its mineral water and is set in
the Appenine hills just to the south east of
Rome. The surrounding countryside, with pine
forests and olive groves, is very picturesque.
Fiuggi is a perfect base for visiting the Eternal
City, while remaining well away from the noise
and traffic of Italy’s vibrant Capital city. We
return to our hotel in Fiuggi for our last night
of our holiday .
We then stay for four nights on the Sorrento
Peninsula, which offers dramatic coastal
scenery, world famous resorts and fascinating
Amalfi
Positano
historical sites. Sorrento, a lively resort, is set
on top of rocky cliffs on a beautiful headland
and offers spectacular views over the Bay
of Naples to the Volcano Vesuvius. In the
hills above Sorrento is the charming village
resort of Sant Agata, which has a traditional,
southern Italian feel to it. From Sant Agata
there are spectacular views across the Bay
of Naples, the Bay of Salerno and also the
Amalfi Coast.
Accommodation throughout is on a half board
basis, with continental breakfast and table
d’hote dinner included each day in both of our
resorts.

Our Hotels
In Fiuggi we stay in good hotels such as the centrally
located 3 star Hotel Fiore or similar. Close to the resort’s
shops and cafes, this family owned hotel offers a good
standard of accommodation.
On the Sorrento Peninsula we stay in the 3 star Hotel
Delle Palme in Sant Agata or the 3 star Hotel Mary in
Vico Equense or similar. Both hotels have an outdoor
swimming pool and an inviting sun terrace, whilst their
well stocked bars and comfortable lounges are ideal for
relaxing in after a day’s sightseeing.
For a supplement you can stay in a 4 star hotel on the
Sorrento Peninsula, such as the Hotel Eliseo Park in Sant
Agnello di Sorrento or the Hotel Atlantic Palace, which
overlooks Sorrento, or similar. Our carefully chosen
4 star hotels have a swimming pool, bar, lounge and
restaurant.
All hotel bedrooms are en-suite and have a television and telephone. Breakfast and dinner are served in the
hotel’s restaurant. On certain dates we may use other 3 and 4 star hotels on the Sorrento Peninsula.
Our Holiday at a Glance
Day 1 - Fly to Italy
Fly from your chosen regional airport to Rome. On
arrival in Italy we’ll be met by our representative and
transfer to our hotel in Fiuggi for two nights, which is
set in the Appenine Hills just 40 miles south of east
Rome. During our stay we have arranged an included
full day excursion to Rome.
Day 2 - Rome
A day in Rome! After breakfast our coach takes us
the short journey into Rome where, on arrival, we
have a half day city sightseeing tour by coach and
on foot, accompanied by a local guide. The Eternal
City never fails to delight and amaze, with its 2500
years of history and culture and its stylish, vibrant
atmosphere. Highlights of the sightseeing tour are
the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill, St
Peter’s Square in the Vatican and the Trevi Fountain.
This afternoon is at leisure for further sightseeing or
shopping. The Pantheon, the city’s oldest and best
preserved ancient monument, is a must see, together
with the beautiful Piazza Navona. For shopping make
for the area close to the Spanish Steps, along the Via
del Corso and the Via Condotti, for some of Rome’s
best shops. After a fascinating day we return to Fiuggi
in time for dinner.
Day 3 - Pompeii - Sorrento
Leaving after breakfast we drive south on the
“Autostrada del Sole”. Passing Naples we follow the
sweeping curve of the Bay of Naples to Pompeii,
where we have a walking tour of the excavations,
accompanied by a local guide (entrance fee not
included, free for over 65’s). Buried by the eruption
of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD, the city lay buried
for centuries until it was re-discovered in the 18th
century. During the tour we will see the well preserved
remains of temples, villas and the forum, streets
worn away by chariots, shops and even bakeries with
loaves of bread still in the ovens! Later this afternoon
we continue our short journey to our hotel on the
Sorrento Peninsula, where we stay for the next four
nights in Sant’ Agata.
Day 4 - Isle of Capri
Today we have arranged an optional excursion to
the Isle of Capri. Capri is a beautiful island and has
long been a favourite haunt of the jet-set. We take
the ferry from Sorrento for the 40 minute cruise to
this legendary island, landing at Marina Grande. From
here we take the funicular railway up to Capri Town,
with its pretty piazza, colourful alleyways, fashionable
boutiques and chic restaurants. Our local guide will
take us on a walk through the blossoming Augustus
Gardens, from where there are wonderful views over
to the famous ‘Faraglioni’ rocks and Marina Piccola,
where Gracie Fields once lived. In the afternoon you
could take a bus ride to Anacapri where, after perhaps
visiting the Villa San Michele, you could take the
chairlift up to the summit of Monte Solaro, the highest
point on the island. Or you could visit the amazing
Blue Grotto with its crystal clear azure waters,
probably the island’s best known feature.
Day 5 - At Leisure
A day at leisure to relax in the surroundings of the
hotel, perhaps do some shopping or see some more
of the sights, you could even take the local train to
Naples - Italy’s liveliest city!
Day 6 - Amalfi Coast
There is an opportunity today to take one of the most
famous drives in the world, on our optional excursion
to the Amalfi Coast and Ravello. The Amalfi Drive runs
down the coast on the southern side of the Sorrento
Peninsula, winding its way around the Bay of Salerno.
It passes through pretty whitewashed villages such as
Positano and Praiano, which are perched precariously
above the Mediterranean and backed by dramatic
mountains. Hidden in the mountains above Amalfi, the
peaceful village of Ravello has some of the best views
of the coast. Here you will find the Villa Rufolo, which
was the setting of Wagner’s opera ‘The Parsifal’. We’ll
also visit Amalfi itself, characterised by fishermen’s
cottages and its maze of narrow cobblestone streets,
before returning to Sorrento.
Day 7 Montecassino - Fiuggi
A leisurely drive back to our 3 star hotel in Fiuggi for
dinner and overnight stay. During the journey we will
visit the restored Montecassino Abbey and the British
& Commonwealth World War II cemetery.

Day 8 Fly to the UK
We transfer to Rome airport for your flight back to
the UK.

Our Holiday at a Glance
Day 1 - Fly to Italy
Depart on your flight to Italy. On arrival it’s just a
short transfer to our hotel in Lido di Jesolo, where we
stay for seven nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast
basis.
Day 2 - 7
At leisure in our Adriatic Riviera resort, with a
programme of sightseeing excursions which are
included in the price of the holiday.
Lake Garda & Verona
Verona, with its stunning opera venue in a Roman
amphitheatre, is one of the most historical cities in
Italy and home to the story of Romeo and Juliet,
whose house and balcony, on Via Cappello, is visited
by star-crossed lovers from around the world! The
beautiful Piazza Bra is the hub of this small city, which
is lined with enticing pavement cafes and dominated
by the Roman arena, which is the third largest in the
world. The ‘old town’ is pedestrianised and easy to
explore on foot. Don’t miss Piazza Erbe, built on the
Roman Forum, or the superb shops along Via Mazzini.
After our visit we continue to Lake Garda. The palm
tree lined promenades, tall cypress trees and lemon
and olive groves have long given the southern
shores of Lake Garda a Mediterranean feel. We’ll visit
Sirmione, a delightful village which enjoys a unique
setting on a peninsula jutting into the lake. There are
cobbled streets, tiny squares and an impressive castle
all waiting to be explored, and plenty of cafes to relax
and enjoy an ice cream or a cappuccino.
Lake Garda
Venice
Our day begins with a memorable boat ride across
the Venetian Lagoon to the heart of Venice. This
enchanting city is undoubtedly the most romantic
in all of Italy, with its maze of canals and bridges,
palaces and piazzas. Admire the Rialto Bridge, the
Doges Palace and St. Mark’s Square. On our morning
walking tour of the city we will see all of the main
sights and the afternoon is free for you to make your
own discoveries. You can browse in the many shops,
boutiques and craft shops or explore the some of
the many museums, galleries and churches. There
will also be an opportunity to take a gondola ride
(optional), perhaps the very best way to view this
extraordinary city!
Cortina & The Dolomites
A spectacular excursion into the Italian Dolomites,
following the scenic route through the mountains to
enjoy some of Europe’s most breathtaking scenery,
with picture-postcard villages and snow-capped
granite peaks which reach a height of 11,000ft. We
also visit Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy’s premier ski resort.
Days at Leisure & Optional
excursion
Time at leisure to relax in the surroundings of the
hotel, lie on the beach, perhaps do some shopping or
see some more of the sights. Why not join us on our
optional excursion to the Hilltowns of Veneto when
you will be able to enjoy strolling around enchanting
villages and taste the delicious cuisine and famous
wines of the region? This excursion is at a relaxed
pace, traveling along scenic back-roads, with plenty
of time to enjoy each of the medieval villages and
towns we visit. Our first visit is to the charming town
of Bassano del Grappa, with its magnificent Palladian
bridge, narrow streets and spacious squares. Take
time to discover the spectacular vantage points
enjoying views across the surrounding hills and
countryside. We will also make a stop at Asolo,
perched upon lush-green hills. With its delightful
gardens, palatial villas, beautiful renaissance palaces,
charming castle and fortress, Asolo has inspired poets
and writers over the centuries. This area is also famed
for the sparkling Prosecco wine, so be sure to relax
in one of the many pavement cafes and enjoy a glass
or two! This optional excursion is really one not to be
missed.
Day 8
We transfer to the airport for your flight back to the

good standard 3 star hotels, such as the family owned
Hotel La Pia. All of our hotels are well known to us and
personally visited.
All hotels have a restaurant and bar, with all bedrooms
having an en-suite private bathroom. Continental
breakfasts each morning and a 3 course table d’hote
dinner on two evenings in the hotel are included in the
price of the holiday.

this fabulous holiday to Tuscany?
One of the most satisfying ways to learn how to cook authentic Italian dishes is to do it in Italy, with help from
experts. Each region of Italy has its own specialities and the cuisine of Tuscany is considered by many to be the best
of all! Tuscany’s wonderful cuisine is based on fresh local produce and simple, traditional methods of preparation.
These informal ‘hands on’ courses include expert guidance from professional chefs who will encourage you to try
your hand at traditional techniques and recipes. For authenticity, our cookery experiences take place in real working
kitchens, either in our hotel, at a nearby restaurant or in a farmhouse style kitchen. You really will learn to cook
delicious Italian meals that will delight your family and friends when you return home.
On this specially arranged holiday we stay in Montecatini Terme, an elegant spa resort in the heart of Tuscany.
It’s very Italian with broad tree-lined boulevards, beautiful parks and good choice of shops, pavement cafes and
restaurants.
Included during the holiday are three cookery classes. We’ve also included a full day excursion into the countryside
of Tuscany and there will be an opportunity to visit Florence on our optional excursion.
Two Morning Cooking Lessons
The morning cookery lessons show you how to make a
two course meal; the first course (primo) will be fresh
pasta with a delicious sauce, and the main course
(secondo) will be a meat or fish dish – the end result
being your lunch!
One Afternoon Cooking Lesson
The afternoon class will include a lesson and
preparation of a starter (antipasto), a main course and
dessert (dolce) – then once the dishes are all ready,
sit down with your fellow trainees and enjoy your
wonderful Italian dinner, with wine included.
N.B. Please note that the menus may vary to those
shown above, which are for guidance only. The menus
will be based on fresh, seasonal produce at the time
of your holiday. Each lesson is usually 2 - 3 hours. On
some departures there will be one morning lesson and
two afternoon lessons.
Day 1 - Fly to Italy
Our holiday begins with the flight to Italy. On arrival
at Pisa we’ll be met and transferred to our hotel in
Montecatini Terme, where we stay for seven nights.
Dinner this evening is in the hotel.
Days 2 - 7
Wine Tasting
Learn some of the secrets of Tuscan cuisine with our
specially arranged classes. During our stay we have
included three half day cooking lessons and we have
also included a full day sightseeing excursion in the
Tuscany countryside, when we will also be sampling
some of the wines of Tuscany and the locally produced
olive oil. And on one of the free days why not join our
optional excursion to Florence?
Tuscany Countryside & Wine Tasting
Take a break from the cooking and enjoy a relaxing
day out on a leisurely journey into Tuscany’s timeless
landscape, which is just like a scene from an old
Italian painting. During our relaxing day we will visit
Vicchiomaggio Castle, one of the renowned wine estates
which is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico area,
close to the ancient village of Greve in Chianti. During
our visit to this award winning vineyard, we will have a
tasting of two or three of the local vintages. We have also
included a tasting of the locally produced olive oil and
another highlight of this delightful day is a Tuscan style
lunch in a typical restaurant. Dinner is not included this
evening, giving you the opportunity of eating in one of the
many restaurants in the resort.
Optional Excursion to Florence
This beautiful city, built on the banks of the River Arno,
was home to Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. The
capital of Tuscany is overflowing with Renaissance
architecture and art. Our full day excursion includes a
guided walking tour taking in the sightseeing highlights
including the Duomo and Baptistery, the Santa Croce,
the Palazzo Vecchio, the Ponte Vecchio and the Piazza
Republica. The afternoon is then at leisure for further
sightseeing or shopping.
Day 8 Fly to the UK
We transfer to Pisa airport for your flight back to the UK.

Walking in the
Sorrento Hills
and the Amalfi Coast
Set in the Bay of Naples, the Sorrento
Peninsula is an area of outstanding natural
beauty and the unique landscape includes
hills and mountains, deep valleys and terraced
slopes with orange and lemon trees, olive
groves, vineyards and deep blue seas. Together
with a long and rich history and a wonderful
climate, this really is a region well worth
exploring. Our holiday includes three fabulous
escorted walks; through the vine clad Sorrento
Hills, above the stunning Amalfi Coast and to
Crapolla and Marina del Cantone. We’ll also
arrange optional excursions to the Isle of Capri
and the excavated Roman city of Pompeii.
Our Holiday at a Glance
Day 1 UK – Naples
Depart on your flight to Naples. On arrival we
transfer to our hotel in Sant Agata, where we
stay for seven nights on a half board basis.
Days 2 to 7
At leisure in our Neapolitan Riviera resort.
During our stay we have arranged a programme
of included walks and optional sightseeing
excursions. On each of the walks we have
included coach transfers from/to our hotel as
appropriate.
Sorrento
Sorrento Hills
Our introductory walk starts from Sant Agata
and offers some beautiful views of the Bay of
Naples with, if the weather is clear, the Volcano
Vesuvius in the background. We follow the
‘Circumpiso’ pathway which takes us through the
hills of St. Peter, with their orange and lemon
groves, down to Sorrento. On arrival in the resort
we’ll have a walk through Sorrento’s ‘Old Town’,
visiting the 13th century Cloister of St. Francis,
the Cathedral and Piazza Tasso, the main square
named after the poet. There will also be plenty of
free time for shopping and lunch in Sorrento
Easy walking – 2 hours.
Positano
The Amalfi Coast
On the southern side of the Sorrento Peninsula,
the scenery on the Amalfi coast is absolutely
stunning. Taking the ‘Pathway of the Gods’,
we make our way firstly to Bomerano, above
Positano, where we will visit a local farm for a
tasting of mozzarella cheese. We then continue
towards Montepulciano and Nocelle and back
down towards Praiano and Positano. There will
be time at leisure in Positano to make your own
discoveries in this pretty resort and perhaps
enjoy a drink in one of the cafes on the beach.
Easy walking – 2 hours.
Amalfi Coast
Hidden Coves and Fishermen’s Villages
Legend says that Saint Peter, on his way to
Rome, landed in the hamlet of Crappola and
walked up to Sant Agata. On our walk, we are
going to follow in his footsteps - but the other
way round! We begin by walking from Sant
Agata to the village of Torca, where the footpath
starts. The easy walk down passes olive and
lemon groves before arriving on the stony area
where most of the vegetation is bushes of highly
perfumed rosemary and myrtle. Now the path
descends between two hills to the fjord and
small beach at Crappola. As we make our way
down to the sea, there are beautiful views over
to the Galli Islands, lying in the Bay of Salerno,
and we will visit the little Chapel of St. Peter.
From here we take a short boat ride to Marina
del Cantone, where there will be free time, giving
an opportunity to have lunch in one of the fish
restaurants.
Moderate / Difficult Walking – 3 hours
Day 8
We transfer to the airport and your flight back to
the UK.
Optional Excursions
Pompeii and Isle of Capri

The elegant spa town of Chianciano Terme, with
its timeless backdrop of Tuscan countryside,
is our base for this wonderful holiday in one of
Italy’s loveliest regions. Enjoy walking through a
picture-postcard landscape of rolling green hills
crowned with medieval villages, endless rows of
grapevines that produce celebrated wines and
long lines of towering cypress trees.
Our Holiday at a Glance
Day 1: UK – Italy
Depart on your flight to Pisa. On arrival we
transfer to our hotel in Montecatini Terme,
where we stay overnight. The rest of the day is
at leisure for you to make your own discoveries.
Dinner in the hotel is included.
Day 2
San Gimignano – Siena – Chianciano Terme
We leave after breakfast and drive into the heart
of Tuscany. Our first visit is to San Gimignano,
a hilltop town which retains all of its charm and
character, and is a UNESCO World Heritage
Site. The walk to the top of the town, through
the narrow medieval streets, is rewarded with
splendid views of the surrounding countryside.
Then it’s on to Siena, within the Chianti
region, which is almost unchanged since the
Renaissance. There is a wealth of treasures and
our walking tour of this beautiful city includes
the black and white marble Cathedral and the
spectacular Piazza del Campo, where the Palio
bareback horserace is held. Later this afternoon
we continue on to Chianciano Terme, where we
stay for the next five nights. Dinner is included
each evening in our hotel.
Days 3 - 6
During our stay we have arranged a programme
of three included walks. On each of the walks we
have included coach transfers to and from our
hotel.
Walking in Tuscany
Montalcino to Sant Antimo Abbey
Our introductory walk begins in the delightful
hilltop town of Montalcino, which is noted for
its ruby red wine ‘Brunello di Montalcino’. Our
walk takes us past the vineyards which produce
the wine and continues through the countryside
which abounds with wildlife, including deer, wild
boar and hare. We’ll pass typical Tuscan villas
and rustic farmhouses, all the while enjoying
beautiful countryside with vineyards, cypress
trees and olive groves as we make our way to
the historic Benedictine Abbey of Sant Antimo,
where our walk ends.
Easy walking - 2 hours.
Monte Amiata
From high on the slopes of Monte Amiata, a
dormant volcano which is covered in forests,
there are some wonderful views over the
surrounding countryside. This is also an area
with numerous species of animals and birds
including falcon, otter, pheasant and porcupine.
Moderate walking - 3 hours.
Bagno Vignoni to Pienza
After our short coach journey, we start from the
spa resort of Bagno Vignoni and take a pleasant
walk through the Val d’Orcia to Pienza, perhaps
one of the most beautiful valleys in Italy. In
2004 the Val d’Orcia was listed by UNESCO as a

in Pienza, which is a truly majestic town which
came to prominence during the Renaissance,
with its fine palaces and churches. Of course,
there will be free time here before we return by
coach to Chianciano.

Day 7 - Florence – Montecatini
Leaving after breakfast its just a short drive
to Florence. On arrival in the city we will
have a guided walking tour of the main sites
and monuments including the Cathedral and
Baptistry, the Ponte Vecchio, the Piazza Signoria
and the beautiful Santa Croce church with the
tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, Marconi and
Rossini. Traffic is banned in part of the historic
centre, so it’s possible to wander at leisure. After
our walk there will be some free time before we
leave Florence and make our way to Montecatine
Terme, arriving in time for dinner.
Day 8
We transfer to the airport at the appropriate
time and your flight back to the UK.

FINANCIAL SECURITY AND PEACE OF MIND
The air holidays and flights in this brochure are ATOL protected, as we hold an Air Travel
Organiser’s Licence granted by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 6900,
meaning that you are assured of full financial protection when you book your holiday with
us. We are also a member of ABTA, membership number V0669. We are obliged to maintain a
high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. Further information on ABTA and
the Code can be found on ABTA’s website www.abta.com
PRICES AND BROCHURE ACCURACY
We continuously look for the best possible flight prices from the UK to our holiday
destinations, as these are continually changing. The prices shown have allowed a reasonable
budget for the flight. However, at your time of booking, should the cost of your flight exceed
this budget the price of the holiday will increase, which we will advise you at this time.
Therefore the prices shown in this brochure are guidelines and the exact price, including
any regional airport supplements, will be confirmed to you when you contact us at the
time of booking. The price is per person and is based on two people sharing a twin/double
bedroom, unless otherwise stated. A handling fee of 2% will be added to all payments made
by credit card.
Please note that the holiday information and prices shown in this brochure may have
changed by the time you come to book the holiday. Whilst every effort is made to ensure
the accuracy of the brochure and prices at the time of printing, regrettably errors do
occasionally occur. You must therefore ensure that you check all details of your chosen
holiday (including the price) with us (directly or through your travel agent) at the time of
booking.
NO SURCHARGE PRICE GUARANTEE
Once the price of your chosen holiday has been confirmed at the time of booking, subject to
the correction of errors, the price of your holiday is fully guaranteed and will not be subject
to any surcharges.
TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Airlines and all timings shown in this brochure and on your confirmation are provisional
and for guidance only and are based on schedules that are known at the time of printing,
or upon expected schedules based on previous experience. Times of flights may vary as
a result of changes to flight schedules or change of airline. Should any change of flight
time be significant, we will inform you when they become known to us. Final timings will
otherwise be re-confirmed with your joining instructions and travel information, sent to you
approximately 7 - 10 days before departure. All prices are based on air travel in economy/
standard class.
AIRLINES
The Airlines we use on our holidays include Easyjet, Jet2, Ryanair, KLM, Thomsonfly,
Monarch, Alitalia, BA, Flybe, First Choice, Aer Lingus and Bmibaby
Our brochures are printed up to 12 months in advance and not all airlines will have
published their schedules. In these cases the timings shown are based on our experience
from previous years. Therefore the flight times shown are for guidance only and are
subject to change due to adjustments to flight schedules, or if these flights become fully
booked. Your baggage allowance (subject to confirmation) is one suitcase usually between
15 - 20 kilograms (depending on the Airline) and one piece of hand-luggage per person
(except City Breaks which are hand luggage only - suitcases can be booked at additional
cost). In-flight refreshments can be purchased on board. Confirmed flight timings and
baggage allowances will be sent with your Travel Documents 7 - 10 days before departure.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
We include return transfers from the airport to the hotel in the holiday price (except City
Breaks). These transfers are usually by scheduled shuttle service which are operated
by independent companies. Please note that we usually have clients arriving on several
different flights and therefore there may be a wait on arrival until other flights have landed
before the transfer to the resort.
HOTELS: CATEGORIES AND SAFETY STANDARDS
Every country has a different system for awarding hotel categories/star ratings. As a general
guide a 3 star family owned hotel will not have the more extensive facilities of a hotel with
a higher category. The hotels do not necessarily have a lift and sometimes have steps/
inclines for access. Please note that it is the requirements and safety standards of the local
authorities, and not those of the UK, which apply and make up your holiday. As a general
rule, these requirements and standards will not be the same as the UK and may sometimes
be lower.
YOUR BEDROOM
All bedrooms are ‘standard’ rooms unless otherwise stated. En-suite bathrooms have a
washbasin, WC and either a bath or shower. Twin bedrooms usually have two single beds. If
requested, we may be able to allocate a double bed but this cannot be guaranteed. Hotels on
the Continent do not usually provide tea making facilities in bedrooms. Seasoned travellers
usually take a ‘low wattage’ travel kettle if they require this facility. Towels and soap, when
provided, may not be of the same size or quality as those you would use at home.
BEDROOMS WITH THREE OR FOUR BEDS
Triple (3 beds) and family (4 beds) bedrooms are usually twin bedrooms with foldaway and/
or bunk beds (which may not be suitable for adults). Putting an extra bed in a room may
mean that space will be limited.
SINGLE BEDROOMS
A limited number of single bedrooms are available at most hotels. Please note that these
may not be as large or in as good a position as a twin bedroom, even though a single
supplement has to be paid.
RESORT INFORMATION AND FACILITIES
Our holidays visit busy cities, popular tourist destinations and international resorts and
therefore at the hotels noise and disturbance can be expected from traffic, amusement
parks, nightclubs, restaurants, airports and building works. Many of our holidays take place
during the ‘shoulder’ and ‘low’ seasons. Therefore please bear in mind that from time to time
certain facilities, including excursions, may be altered or withdrawn due to lack of demand,
weather conditions, essential maintenance or other circumstances beyond our control. In
coastal resorts in particular some of the shops, bars and restaurants may be closed or have
limited opening times. Porterage is not included and the hotels we use don’t normally have
porters. If they do, a charge may be payable.
ITINERARIES AND INCLUDED & OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS
Maps featured are for guidence only and are not to scale and resort descriptions are
intended to give a general overview of the attractions on offer. The itineraries are shown
for each holiday but please note that events subsequent to the production of this brochure
may occasionally cause us to amend itineraries and their timings. To help you in planning
your holiday, we also indicate in the brochure the itinerary for included excursions which
are provided as part of your holiday, and for optional excursions which are available at an
extra cost. Please note that unless otherwise stated, excursions to cities and other places of
interest are not guided tours and do not include any entrance fees. Excursions take you to
a central point with time at leisure to explore at your own pace. In some locations a guided
sightseeing tour may be offered as an optional activity at a reasonable charge if a guided
sightseeing tour is not already included. All optional excursions are operated by local travel
agencies and do not form part of your holiday with Mistral Holidays. Optional excursions
are subject to local booking conditions and usually there is a requirement for a minimum
number of participants for any excursion to operate. Many towns and cities throughout
Europe now prohibit traffic in the “Old Town” centres and therefore some excursions or
sightseeing tours take place on foot. For all holidays we will send you a final itinerary/ticket
for your holiday 7 days before your departure. If you have not received your final itinerary/
joining instructions 4 days before departure please contact us by telephone. Variations
between the brochure itinerary and the final itinerary will not entitle you to compensation
where such variations are a consequence of non-significant changes to your holiday.
Changes to the advertised excursion programme are rare, but we do reserve the right to
introduce new excursions or amend existing excursions.
PASSPORTS AND VISAS
Passports are required for everyone on continental holidays. Holders of British or EC
passports do not require visas. If you are 16 or over and haven’t yet got a passport, our
recommendation is that you should apply for one at least 10 weeks before your holiday. The
UK Passport Service has to confirm your identity before issuing your first passport and will
ask you to attend an interview in order to do this. It is your responsibility to ensure that
you are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents before departure. All
costs in obtaining such documentation must be paid by you. If you or any member of your
party is not a British citizen or hold a non-British passport, you must check passport and
visa requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the country(ies) to or through which
you will travel. We regret we cannot accept any liability if you are refused entry onto any
transport or into any country due to failure on your part to carry correct documentation.
If failure to have any necessary travel or other documents results to fines, surcharges or
other financial penalty being imposed on us, you will be responsible for reimbursing us
accordingly.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
At the time of printing there are no requirements for inoculations on continental holidays.
You should however refer to your doctor for up to date information and obtain a copy of
the Department of Health Leaflet T6, “Health Advice For Travellers”, which is available from
local Department of Health Offices and most Post Offices. We also strongly recommend that
you obtain a European Health Insurance Card from the Post Office for reciprocal medical
treatment within the EU.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
If you have a special request you must advise us at the time of booking and clearly note it
on your booking form. Although we will endeavour to pass any reasonable requests on to
the relevant supplier, we regret we cannot promise that any request will be complied with
unless we have specifically confirmed this in writing. Confirmation that a special request
has been noted or passed on to the supplier or the inclusion of the special request on your
Confirmation or any other documentation is not confirmation that the request will be met.
FLIGHT DELAYS
We are unable to promise you that flights will never be delayed, as unfortunately delays
sometimes still do occur. Any arrangements provided in the event of flight delay are
provided at the sole discretion of the airline concerned. We recommend that you take
advantage of our holiday insurance which will, subject to the terms of the policy, pay you
compensation for a delay exceeding 12 hours or alternatively will allow you to cancel the
holiday and claim a full refund from the insurance company. In the event of a major delay to
the homeward journey, we will endeavour to delay the departure from your hotel.
EATING OUT, INCLUDED MEALS AND SPECIAL DIETS
Eating out is one of the great pleasures of any holiday in Italy. From a family-owned trattoria
or pizzeria to a top class restaurant - wherever Italians eat you will find delicious food and
prices to suit all pockets. Whilst most of our holidays include half board, it is without doubt
very rewarding to have an occasional meal out. Included meals are shown on the holiday
itinerary. Unless stated otherwise, breakfasts are ‘continental’ style (a simple affair with tea
or coffee, rolls, butter and jam). Additional items such as fruit juice, cereals or eggs may
be available at a supplement payable direct to the hotel. Main meals are either a buffet
or a three course set ‘table d’hote’ menu, normally served at one sitting. Food is always
very much a personal matter of taste and preference. The majority of our hoteliers serve
simple, but good quality, food of the local region, which is often different to British cuisine.
If your holiday includes half board, meals served in the hotel will generally consist of soup,
salad or pasta to start, a main course of meat or fish served with vegetables, followed by a
dessert of fruit, ice cream or cake. Dining room seating plans may mean that you will share
a table with fellow guests. If on the first day you arrive late at the hotel, or depart early
on the last day, meal arrangements may be adjusted. The hotels and restaurants we use
can normally provide very simple vegetarian meals. Diets in most European countries are
more meat orientated and hotels and restaurants on the Continent are not as familiar with
vegetarian dishes as in the UK and you are likely to be served a salad or an omelette as an
alternative to a meat or fish dish. Please let us know at the time of booking if you follow a
vegetarian diet. We regret we cannot cater for other dietary needs e.g. sugar-free, low fat,
gluten-free etc.
ACTIVITIES, FITNESS AND SPECIAL NEEDS
Many of our holidays are designed for those who want to see and do as much as possible,
sometimes in a short space of time, whilst visiting another country and feature itineraries
and activities that need a reasonable level of fitness. This can sometimes mean lengthy
periods of travel and excursions which involve walking. Some hotels have steps and/or
inclines for access or are on narrow roads. At these hotels our coaches sometimes also
have to stop some distance away. Bookings are accepted on the understanding that all
persons travelling are normally in good health, and physically equal to the chosen holiday
programme. Whilst we accept bookings from people with disabilities we must point out that
some degree of mobility is necessary to gain full enjoyment from our holidays. If you or any
member of your party has any medical problem or disability which may affect your holiday,
please tell us before making your booking so that we can advise on the suitability of the
chosen arrangements. In any event, you must give us full details in writing at the time of
booking. If we reasonably feel unable to properly accommodate the particular needs of the
person concerned, we must reserve the right to decline/cancel their reservation. We would
ask passengers affected by mobility be accompanied by an able-bodied person who can
provide the necessary assistance when boarding and walking to the coach or hotel(s). We
are happy to carry folding wheelchairs (subject to space being available on the aircraft),
but you must tell us at the time of booking. We regret that we are unable to carry mobility
vehicles or battery powered wheelchairs.
NATIONAL AND/OR LOCAL HOLIDAYS
If during the course of your holiday there is a National or Local holiday then shops,
museums/monuments and banks may be closed. The dates of these holidays varies from
country to country. For more information on these dates, we would ask you to contact the
National Tourist Board of the country or countries you are visiting on the holiday.
DATA PROTECTION POLICY
In order to process your booking and to ensure that your travel arrangements run
smoothly and meet your requirements, we need to use the information you provide on
the booking form such as name, address, any special needs/dietary requirements, etc. We
have appropriate security measures in place to protect this information. We must pass the
information on to the relevant suppliers of your holiday arrangements such as hotels, coach
and ferry companies, etc. If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, we
cannot provide your holiday. In making a booking with us, you consent to this information
being passed on to the relevant persons. The information may also be provided to public
authorities such as Customs/Immigration if required by them, or as required by law. We
may also use it to inform you of future holidays or send you brochures. If you do not wish to
receive such offers from us in the future, please let us know. We will confirm the details we
have on record about you on request.
Please note: Telephone calls may be recorded for training/security purposes and to ensure
we provide a high level of service.
MINIMUM NUMBERS
All holidays are subject to a minimum number of participants. There is a deadline of four
weeks prior to departure for deciding if sufficient passengers have booked for the holiday
to operate. In the event that the minimum numbers have not been reached, we reserve the
right to cancel the holiday and to refund all monies paid.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office Travel Advice Unit may have issued information about
your holiday destination. You can check this information on the internet - www.foc.gov.
uk or alternatively, contact ABTA Information Department on 0901 201 5050 (call cost 50p
per minute).
HEALTH, INOCULATIONS AND INSURANCE
No inoculations are required for travel on these holidays. For up to date health and travel
advice, check with your GP or visit www.dh.gov.uk/travellers. Please note that the E111
form is no longer valid. You will need a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to receive
any required healthcare during a visit to a European Economic Area (EEA) country or
Switzerland. We strongly recommend that you have a valid EHIC in addition to your Holiday
Insurance. When arranging your holiday insurance, you must give the insurers full details of
any current, ongoing or past medical condition or problem you or any member of your party
or other person as detailed in the policy (such as a relative or close business partner) has or
has had. If you fail to do so, your insurers may refuse to cover you if you make a claim.
COMPETITIVELY PRICED HOLIDAY INSURANCE - EXCESSES FREE POLICY - NO
ADDITIONAL PREMIUMS FOR OVER 65’s
It is essential that all holidaymakers should be adequately insured. We make it a condition
of booking continental holidays that you accept the holiday insurance we have arranged
or alternatively you may arrange a policy yourself that provides comparable or greater
cover, including a 24 hour emergency service. Our Holiday Insurance is only available to UK
residents. This competitively priced Holiday Insurance is EXCESS FREE - therefore if what
you claim for is covered by the policy and you have complied with the terms and conditions,
your claim will be paid in full without any deductions for so-called “excesses”. Most other
insurance companies charge an “excess” and they will substantially reduce their payment to
you, by up to £60 per person, for every category. Our insurance cover comes into effect the
moment your premium is received and the policy is issued by us.
A summary of the benefits for each category is…
Medical Expenses - up to £2,000,000, Personal Property - up to £1,500 (including £200
money), Cancellation - up to £1,000, Personal Accident - up to £15,000,
Travel Delay - Up to £60 or full refund of holiday cost, Legal Expenses - up to £10,000, and
Personal Liability - up to £2,000,000. There are no “excesses” - all valid claims are settled in
full. The insurance premium is given on the booking form and includes Insurance Premium

Towergate Chapman Stevens must be informed of any fact which is likely to influence us in

Please read the following Pre-Travel Conditions carefully to ensure that you understand
and can comply with these requirements: It is a condition that at the time of taking out this
Policy you must comply with each of the following…
1) You are not aware of any reason why the holiday should be cancelled or cut short. 2) You
are not receiving or awaiting treatment as a hospital in-patient for any illness or injury, as
any claim arising from this injury or treatment will not be covered. 3) You are not travelling
a) against the advice of a medical practitioner. b) for the purpose of obtaining medical
treatment. c) if you have been given a terminal prognosis. 4) If you have received medical
treatment as a hospital in-patient or out-patient, during the six months prior to booking the
trip, you must obtain medical advice from a Medical Practitioner at your cost confirming
that you will be fit enough to take the trip. 5) If you are undergoing medical treatment as
a hospital out-patient at the date the final cost of the trip is due to be paid a ‘Certificate of
Fitness’ confirming your ability to travel must be obtained. 6) If you are on medication at
the time of travel your medical condition is stable/well controlled. You must notify us if any
of the situations described above arise between the date you take out the policy and the
first day of your holiday.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The policy contains the following General Exclusion: You Are Not Covered
for anything caused directly or indirectly by you suffering from stress, anxiety or depression
unless it has been investigated and diagnosed as such by a Consultant specialising in the
relevant field. The terms and conditions are shown in full on the insurance certificate which
will be sent to you, or you may ask for a copy prior to booking should you wish to inspect it.
Please read it carefully to ensure that it meets with your requirements and take note of the
conditions and exclusions. NOTE: If you declare a medical condition Insurers reserve their
right to amend the policy terms and conditions.
BOOKING CONDITIONS
AIR HOLIDAYS 2011/12
The following Booking Conditions [together with the Additional Information contained
in this brochure] form the basis of your contract with Mistral European Holidays Ltd.
Please read them carefully as they set out our respective rights and obligations.
In these Booking Conditions, “you” and “your” means all persons named on the booking
(including anyone who is added or substituted at a later date) and “we”, “us” and “our”
means Mistral European Holidays Ltd.
1. MAKING YOUR BOOKING
To confirm a booking, the party leader must complete and sign our booking form. He/she
must be authorised to make the booking on the basis of these Booking Conditions by all
persons named on the booking and their parent or guardian for all party members who are
under 18 when the booking is made. By signing the booking form, the party leader confirms
that he/she is so authorised. The party leader is responsible for making all payments due
to us. The party leader must be at least 18 when the booking is made. The completed signed
booking form must then be sent to us together with the payments referred to in clause 2
below. Once we have received your booking form and all appropriate payments, we will,
subject to availability, confirm your holiday by issuing a confirmation invoice. This invoice
will be sent to the party leader or your travel agent. Please check this invoice carefully
as soon as you receive it. Contact us immediately if any information which appears on the
confirmation or any other document appears to be incorrect or incomplete as it may not
be possible to make changes later. We regret we cannot accept any liability if we are not
notified of any inaccuracy in any document within 14 days of our sending it out (5 days for
tickets). We will do our best to rectify any mistake notified to us outside these time limits
but you must meet any costs involved in doing so. The only exception to this requirement to
meet costs is where the mistake in question was made by us and there is good reason why
you did not tell us about it within these time limits.
2. PAYMENT
In order to confirm your chosen holiday, a deposit (or full payment if booking within six
weeks of departure) must be paid at the time of booking. If you wish to purchase the
insurance policy we offer, all applicable premiums must also be paid at the time of booking.
Please see clause 7 on the subject of insurance. The balance of the holiday cost must be
received by us not less than 4 weeks prior to departure. This date will be shown on the
confirmation invoice. Reminders are not sent. If we do not receive all payments due in full
and on time, we are entitled to assume that you wish to cancel your booking. In this case,
we will be entitled to keep all deposits paid or due at that date. If we do not cancel straight
away because you have promised to make payment, you must pay the cancellation charges
shown in clause 6 depending on the date we reasonably treat your booking as cancelled. For
flight bookings, all monies paid to one of our authorised travel agents for your holiday with
us will be held on our behalf until they are paid to us or refunded to you.
3. YOUR CONTRACT
A binding contract between us comes into existence when we issue our confirmation invoice
to the party leader or your travel agent or, if you make a flight booking by telephone, when
we verbally confirm. We both agree that English Law (and no other) will apply to your
contract and to any dispute, claim or other matter of any description which arises between
us (except as set out below). We both also agree that any dispute, claim or other matter of
any description (and whether or not involving any personal injury) which arises between
us must be dealt with under the ABTA Arbitration Scheme (see clause 12) or by the Courts
of England and Wales only unless, in the case of Court proceedings, you live in Scotland or
Northern Ireland. In this case, proceedings must either be brought in the Courts of your
home country or those of England and Wales. If proceedings are brought in Scotland or
Northern Ireland, you may choose to have your contract and any dispute, claim or other
matter of any description which arises between us governed by the law of Scotland/
Northern Ireland as applicable (but if you do not so choose, English law will apply). Changes
to these Booking Conditions or the General Information shown in our brochure will only be
valid if agreed by us in writing.
4. THE PRICE OF YOUR HOLIDAY
We reserve the right to increase or decrease the prices of unsold holidays at any time. The
price of your chosen holiday will be confirmed at the time of booking. Prices for Continental
holidays are based on an exchange rate of £1 to £1.18 Euros. Once the price of your chosen
holiday has been confirmed at the time of booking, subject to the correction of errors, the
price of your holiday is fully guaranteed and will not be subject to any surcharges. Please
note, changes and errors occasionally occur. You must check all details of your chosen
holiday at the time of booking
5. CHANGES BY YOU
Should you wish to make any changes to your confirmed holiday, you must notify us in
writing as soon as possible. Whilst we will endeavour to assist, we cannot guarantee we will
be able to meet any such requests. Where we can, an amendment fee of £10 per amendment
will be payable together with any costs incurred by ourselves and any costs or charges
incurred or imposed by any of our suppliers.
6. CANCELLATION BY YOU
Should you or any member of your party need to cancel your chosen holiday once it has
been confirmed, the party leader must immediately advise us in writing sent by Recorded
or Special Delivery. Your notice of cancellation will only be effective when it is received in
writing by us at our offices. As we incur costs from the time we confirm your booking, the
following cancellation charges will be payable. Where the cancellation charge is shown
as a percentage, this is calculated on the basis of the total cost payable by the person(s)
cancelling excluding insurance premiums and amendment charges. Insurance premiums
and amendment charges are not refundable in the event of the person(s) to whom they
apply cancelling. Depending on the reason for cancellation, you may be able to reclaim these

cancellation charges (less any applicable excess) under the terms of your insurance policy.
Claims must be made directly to the insurance company concerned. Where any cancellation
reduces the number of full paying party members below the number on which the price,
number of free places and/ or any concessions agreed for your booking were based, we will
recalculate these items and re-invoice you accordingly.

If any member of your party is prevented from travelling, that person may transfer their
place to someone else (introduced by you) providing we are notified not less than one
week before departure. Where a transfer to a person of your choice can be made, all costs
and charges incurred by us and/or incurred or imposed by any of our suppliers as a result
together with an amendment fee of £20 must be paid before the transfer can be effected. For
flight inclusive bookings, you must pay the charges levied by the airline concerned. As most
airlines do not permit name changes after tickets (or in the case of airlines which do not
issue paper tickets, electronic confirmations) have been issued for any reason, these charges
are likely to be the full cost of the flight.
7. INSURANCE
We recommend that you take our specially arranged holiday insurance, whether your holiday
is in the United Kingdom or overseas. However, it is a condition of booking that anyone
travelling abroad is adequately covered. If you decide not to purchase this insurance, you
must give us details in writing of your alternative policy (insurer and policy number). If you
fail to do so, we will add the appropriate premiums for the personal travel insurance we offer
to your confirmation invoice. These premiums must be paid as soon as possible as cover will
not be effective until we receive all applicable premiums in full.
Please read your policy details carefully and take them with you on holiday. It is your
responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover you purchase is suitable and adequate for
your particular needs. We do not check alternative insurance policies.
8. CHANGES AND CANCELLATION BY US
We start planning the holidays we offer many months in advance. Occasionally, we have
to make changes to and correct errors in brochure and other details both before and after
bookings have been confirmed and cancel confirmed bookings. Whilst we always endeavour
to avoid changes and cancellations, we must reserve the right to do so.
Most changes are minor. Occasionally, we have to make a “significant change”. A significant
change is a change made before departure which, taking account of the information you
give us at the time of booking and which we can reasonably be expected to know as a tour
operator, we can reasonably expect to have a major affect on your holiday. Significant
changes are likely to include the following changes when made before departure; a change of
accommodation to that of a lower official classification or standard for the whole or a major
part of the time you are away, a change of accommodation area for the whole or a major
part of the time you are away, a change of outward departure time or overall length of time
you are away of twelve or more hours, a change of UK departure airport to one which is more
inconvenient for you and, in the case of tours, a significant change of itinerary missing out
one or more major destination substantially or altogether. If we have to make a significant
change or cancel, we will tell you as soon as possible. If there is time to do so before
departure, we will offer you the choice of the following options:-
(a) (for significant changes) accepting the changed arrangements
(b) purchasing an alternative holiday from us, of a similar standard to that originally booked
if available. We will offer you at least one alternative holiday of equivalent or higher standard
for which you will not be asked to pay any more than the price of the original holiday. If this
holiday is in fact cheaper than the original one, we will refund the price difference. If you do
not wish to accept the holiday we specifically offer you, you may choose any of our other
then available holidays. You must pay the applicable price of any such holiday. This will mean
your paying more if it is more expensive or receiving a refund if it is cheaper
(c) cancelling or accepting the cancellation in which case you will receive a full and quick
refund of all monies you have paid to us.
Please note, the above options are not available where any change made is a minor one.
If we have to make a significant change or cancel, we will as a minimum where compensation
is due pay you the compensation payments set out in the table below depending on the
circumstances and when the significant change or cancellation is notified to you subject to
the following exceptions. Compensation will not be payable and no liability beyond offering
the above mentioned choices can be accepted where we are forced to make a change or
cancel as a result of unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the
consequences of which we could not have avoided even with all due care or where we have
to cancel because the minimum number of persons require to operate your holiday has not
been reached. – in this case we will notify you by the deadline specified. No compensation
will be payable and the above options will not be available if we cancel as a result of your
failure to comply with any requirement of these booking conditions entitling us to cancel
(such as paying on time) or if the change made is a minor one. A minor change is any change
which, taking account of the information you have given us at the time of booking or which
we can reasonably be expected to know as a tour operator, we could not reasonably expect to
have a significant effect on your confirmed holiday.

Very rarely, we may be forced by “force majeure” (see clause 9) to change or terminate your
holiday after departure but before the scheduled end of your time away. This is extremely
unlikely but if this situation does occur, we regret we will be unable to make any refunds
(unless we obtain any refunds from our suppliers), pay you any compensation or meet any
costs or expenses you incur as a result.
9. FORCE MAJEURE
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions, we regret we cannot
accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of
our obligations under our contract with you is prevented or affected by or you otherwise
suffer any damage or loss (as more fully described in clause 10(2) below) as a result of “force
majeure”. In these Booking Conditions, “force majeure” means any event which we or the
supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid.
Such events may include war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, actual or threatened terrorist
activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and
all similar events outside our control.
10. OUR LIABILITY TO YOU
(1) We promise to make sure that the holiday arrangements we have agreed to make, perform
or provide as applicable as part of our contract with you are made, performed or provided
with reasonable skill and care. This means that, subject to these booking conditions, we will
accept responsibility if, for example, you suffer death or personal injury or your contracted
holiday arrangements are not provided as promised or prove deficient as a result of the
failure of ourselves, our employees, agents or suppliers to use reasonable skill and care
in making, performing or providing, as applicable, your contracted holiday arrangements.
Please note it is your responsibility to show that reasonable skill and care has not been used
if you wish to make a claim against us. In addition, we will only be responsible for what our
employees, agents and suppliers do or do not do if they were at the time acting within the
course of their employment (for employees) or carrying out work we had asked them to do
(for agents and suppliers).
(2) If the contract we have with you is not performed or is improperly performed as a result
of failures attributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of the services, or as
a result of failures due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the
consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised,
or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall,
and you suffer an injury or other material loss, we will offer you such prompt assistance as is
reasonable in the circumstances.
(3) Please note, we cannot accept responsibility for any services which do not form part
of our contract. This includes, for example, any additional services or facilities which your
hotel or any other supplier agrees to provide for you where the services or facilities are
not advertised in our brochure and we have not agreed to arrange them and any excursion
you purchase in resort. Please also see clause 16 “Excursions, activities and brochure
information”. In addition, regardless of any wording used by us on our website, in any of our
brochures or elsewhere, we only promise to use reasonable skill and care as set out above
and we do not have any greater or different liability to you.
(4) The promises we make to you about the services we have agreed to provide or arrange
as part of our contract - and the laws and regulations of the country in which your claim or
complaint occurred - will be used as the basis for deciding whether the services in question
had been properly provided. If the particular services which gave rise to the claim or
complaint complied with local laws and regulations applicable to those services at the time,
the services will be treated as having been properly provided. This will be the case even if
the services did not comply with the laws and regulations of the UK which would have applied
had those services been provided in the UK. The exception to this is where the claim or
complaint concerns the absence of a safety feature which might lead a reasonable holiday
maker to refuse to take the holiday in question.
(5) As set out in these booking conditions we limit the maximum amount we may have to
pay you for any claims you may make against us. Where we are found liable for loss of and/
or damage to any luggage or personal possessions (including money), the maximum amount
we will have to pay you is £1500 per person affected unless a lower limitation applies to your
claim under this clause or clause 10(6) below.
For all other claims which do not involve death or personal injury, if we are found liable to
you on any basis the maximum amount we will have to pay you is twice the price (excluding
insurance premiums and amendment charges) paid by or on behalf of the person(s) affected
in total unless a lower limitation applies to your claim under clause 10 (6) below. This
maximum amount will only be payable where everything has gone wrong and you have not
received any benefit at all from your holiday.
(6) Where any claim or part of a claim (including those involving death or personal injury)
concerns or is based on any travel arrangements (including the process of getting on and/
or off the transport concerned) provided by any air, sea, rail or road carrier or any stay in
a hotel, the maximum amount of compensation we will have to pay you will be limited. The
most we will have to pay you for that claim or that part of a claim if we are found liable to
you on any basis is the most the carrier or hotel keeper concerned would have to pay under
the international convention or regulation which applies to the travel arrangements or hotel
stay in question (for example, the Warsaw Convention as amended or unamended and the
Montreal Convention for international travel by air and/or for airlines with an operating
licence granted by an EU country, the EC Regulation on Air Carrier Liability No 889/2002 for
national and international travel by air, the Athens convention for international travel by
sea). Please note: Where a carrier or hotel would not be obliged to make any payment to
you under the applicable International Convention or Regulation in respect of a claim or part
of a claim, we similarly are not obliged to make a payment to you for that claim or part of
the claim. When making any payment, we are entitled to deduct any money which you have
received or are entitled to receive from the transport provider or hotelier for the complaint
or claim in question. Copies of the applicable International Conventions and Regulations are
available from us on request.
(7) Please note, we cannot accept any liability for any damage, loss, expense or other sum(s)
of any description (1) which on the basis of the information given to us by you concerning
your booking prior to our accepting it, we could not have foreseen you would suffer or incur
if we breached our contract with you or (2) which did not result from any breach of contract
or other fault by ourselves or our employees or, where we are responsible for them, our
suppliers. Additionally we cannot accept liability for any business losses.
11. COMPLAINTS AND PROBLEMS.
In the unlikely event that you have any reason to complain or experience any problems
with your holiday whilst away, you must immediately inform our representative and/or the
supplier of the service(s) in question. Any verbal notification must be put in writing and given
to our representative and the supplier as soon as possible. Until we know about a problem
or complaint, we cannot begin to resolve it. Most problems can be dealt with quickly. If
you remain dissatisfied, however, you must write to us within 28 days of your return to the
UK giving your booking reference and full details of your complaint. Only the party leader
should write to us. If you fail to follow this simple complaints procedure, your right to claim
the compensation you may otherwise have been entitled to may be affected or even lost
as a result.
12. ARBITRATION
The arbitration scheme is arranged by ABTA and administered independently by IDRS, part
of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. It provides for a simple and inexpensive method of
arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on you in respect of costs. Full details
will be provided on request or can be obtained from the ABTA website. The scheme does not
apply to claims for an amount greater than £5,000 per person. There is also a limit of £25,000
per booking form. Neither does it apply to claims which are solely in respect of physical injury
or illness or their consequences. The Scheme can however deal with compensation claims
which include an element of minor injury or illness subject to a limit of £1,000 on the amount
the arbitrator can award per person in respect of this element. Your request for arbitration
must be received by ABTA within 12 months of the date of return from the holiday. Outside
this time limit arbitration under the Scheme may still be available if we agree, but the ABTA
Code does not require such agreement. For injury and illness claims, you may like to use the
ABTA / Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Mediation Procedure. This is a voluntary scheme and
requires us to agree for mediation to go ahead. The aim is to help you resolve your dispute in
a quick and cost effective way. Details on request or from www.abta.com.
13. BEHAVIOUR
Smoking or the consumption of alcohol is not allowed on coaches. If you ignore this rule, you
will be liable to meet and must indemnify us for any claims (including all legal costs incurred
by any party) made by any other passenger or third party relating to any inconvenience,
damage, distress or disappointment suffered as a result of your actions. If you refuse to stop
smoking or drinking alcohol when requested to do so, we have the right to terminate your
holiday as set out below.
When you book with us, you accept responsibility for any damage or loss caused by you or
any member of your party. Full payment for any such damage or loss must be paid direct
at the time to the accommodation owner or manager or other supplier. If you fail to do so,
you will be responsible for meeting any claims subsequently made against us (together with
our own and the other party’s full legal costs) as a result of your actions.We expect all clients
to have consideration for other people. If in our reasonable opinion or in the reasonable
opinion of any other person in authority, you or any member of your party behaves in
such a way as to cause or be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to any third party or
damage to property, we are entitled, without prior notice, to terminate the holiday of the
person(s) concerned. In this situation, the person(s) concerned will be required to leave
the accommodation or other service. We will have no further responsibility toward such
person(s) including any return travel arrangements. No refunds will be made and we will not
pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination.
14. CONDITIONS OF SUPPLIERS
Many of the services which make up your holiday are provided by independent suppliers.
Those suppliers provide these services in accordance with their own terms and conditions.
Some of these terms and conditions may limit or exclude the supplier’s liability to you,
usually in accordance with applicable International Conventions (see clause 10 (6)). Copies
of the relevant parts of these terms and conditions are available on request from ourselves
or the supplier concerned.
15. SPECIAL REQUESTS AND MEDICAL PROBLEMS / DISABILITIES
If you have any special request, you must advise us in writing at the time of booking.
Although we will endeavour to pass any reasonable requests on to the relevant supplier, we
regret we cannot guarantee any request will be met unless we have specifically confirmed
this. For your own protection, you should obtain confirmation in writing from us that your
request will be complied with (where it is possible for us to give this) if your request is
important to you. Confirmation that a special request has been noted or passed on to the
supplier or the inclusion of the special request on your confirmation invoice or any other
documentation is not confirmation that the request will be met. Unless and until specifically
confirmed, all special requests are subject to availability.
We regret we cannot accept any conditional bookings, i.e. any booking which is specified to
be conditional on the fulfilment of a particular request. All such bookings will be treated as
“standard” bookings subject to the above provisions on special requests.
If you or any member of your party has any medical problem or disability which may affect
your holiday, please tell us before you confirm your booking so that we can advise as to the
suitability of the chosen arrangements. In any event, you must give us full details in writing
at the time of booking. If we reasonably feel unable to properly accommodate the particular
needs of the person concerned, we must reserve the right to decline their reservation or,
if full details are not given at the time of booking, cancel when we become aware of these
details.
16. EXCURSIONS, ACTIVITIES AND BROCHURE INFORMATION
The information contained in our brochure is correct to the best of our knowledge at the
time of the brochure going to print but may change or occasionally contain errors. We
may provide you with information (in our brochure and/or when you are on holiday) about
excursions which are usually available to purchase whilst you are away. These excursions
are organised and run by local operators who are entirely independent of us. They are not
operated, supervised or controlled in any way by us. Where they are booked through your
tour manager, we act only as booking agent for the local operator concerned. Your contract
for the excursion will be with the local operator. They do not form any part of your contract
with us or of the holiday you book with us in the UK. We cannot accept any liability on any
basis in relation to any such excursions and the acceptance of liability contained in clause
10(1) of our booking conditions will not apply to them. In any event, our liability is limited to a
refund of the cost of the excursion if we are found to have any responsibility for the same on
any basis. We do not, however, exclude or limit liability for the negligence of ourselves or our
employees resulting in your death or personal injury.
We cannot guarantee accuracy at all times of information given in relation to any excursion
or about the resort/area you are visiting generally (except where this concerns the services
which will form part of your contract with us) or that any particular excursion which does
not form part of our contract will operate as advertised or at all and we have no control over
such information / services.
17. PASSPORTS, VISAS AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
The passport, visa and health requirements applicable at the time of printing to British
citizens for the holidays we offer are shown in our brochure. A full British passport presently
takes approximately 2 to 6 weeks to obtain. If you or any member of your party hasn’t yet
got a passport, you should apply for one at least 10 weeks before your holiday. The UK
Passport Service has to confirm your identity before issuing your first passport and will ask
you to attend an interview in order to do this.
Requirements may change and you must check the up to date position in good time before
departure with the Embassy or consulate of the country(ies) you are travelling through and
to. Information on health is contained in the Department of Health leaflet T7 (Health Advice
for Travellers) available from the Department of Health on 0870155455 or via its website on
www.dh.gov.uk and most Post Offices. For holidays in the EEA you should obtain an EHIC
(European Health Insurance Card) prior to departure. It is the party leader’s responsibility
to ensure that all members of the party are in possession of all necessary travel and health
documents before departure. All costs incurred in obtaining such documentation must be
paid by you. We regret we cannot accept any liability if you or any member of your party
are refused entry onto any transport or into any country due to failure on your part to carry
correct documentation. If you or any member of your party is not a British citizen or holds
a non British passport, you must check passport and visa requirements with the Embassy or
Consulate of the country(ies) to or through which you are intending to travel. If failure to
have any necessary travel or other documents results to fines, surcharges or other financial
penalty being imposed on us, you will be responsible for reimbursing us accordingly.
18. YOUR FINANCIAL PROTECTION
The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 require us to
provide security for the monies that you pay for the package holidays booked from this
brochure and for your repatriation in the unlikely event of our insolvency. We provide this
security by way of an ATOL (number 6900) administered by the Civil Aviation Authority and
a bond held by ABTA. If you book arrangements other than a package holiday from this
brochure, your monies are protected by way of a bond held by ABTA.
19. DELAY
We regret we are not in a position to offer you any assistance in the event of delay at your
outward or homeward point of departure or en-route. Any airline concerned may however
provide refreshments. We cannot accept liability for any delay which is due to any of the
reasons set out in clause 10 (2) of these booking conditions (which includes the behaviour
of any passenger(s) on a flight who, for example, fails to check in or board on time). In
addition, we will not be liable for any delay unless it has a significant effect on your holiday
arrangements.
20. FLIGHTS
In accordance with EU Directive (EC) No 2111/2005 Article 9, we are required to bring to your
attention the existence of a “Community list” which contains details of air carriers that are
subject to an operating ban with the EU Community. The Community list is available for
inspection at…
http://europa.eu.int/comm/transport/air/safety/flywell_en.htm.
In accordance with EU Regulations we are required to advise you of the actual carrier(s) (or,
if the actual carrier(s) is not known, the likely carrier(s)) that will operate your flight(s) at the
time of booking. Where we are only able to inform you of the likely carrier(s) at the time of
booking, we shall inform you of the identity of the actual carrier(s) as soon as we become
aware of this. Any change to the operating carrier(s) after your booking has been confirmed
will be notified to you as soon as possible.
We are not always in a position at the time of booking to confirm the flight timings which
will be used in connection with your flight. The flight timings shown in this brochure and
detailed on your confirmation invoice are for guidance only and are subject to alteration and
confirmation. The latest timings will be shown on your tickets which will be despatched to
you approximately two weeks before departure. You must accordingly check your tickets
very carefully immediately on receipt to ensure you have the correct flight times. It is
possible that flight times may be changed even after tickets have been despatched - we will
contact you as soon as possible if this occurs.
Any change in the identity of the carrier, flight timings, and/or aircraft type will not entitle
you to cancel or change to other arrangements without paying our normal charges except
where specified in these conditions.
If the carrier with whom you have a confirmed reservation becomes subject to an operating
ban as above as a result of which we / the carrier are unable to offer you a suitable
alternative the provisions of clause 8 (Changes and cancellation by us) will apply.
21. DENIED BOARDING REGULATIONS
If your flight is cancelled or delayed, your flight ticket is downgraded or boarding is denied
by your airline in circumstances which would entitle you to claim compensation against the
airline under EC Regulation No 261/2004 - the Denied Boarding Regulations 2004, you must
pursue the airline for the compensation due to you. All sums you receive or are entitled to
receive from the airline concerned by virtue of these Regulations represent the full amount
of your entitlement to compensation or any other payment arising from such cancellation,
delay, downgrading or denied boarding. This includes any disappointment, distress,
inconvenience or effect on any other arrangements.
The fact a delay may entitle you to cancel your flight does not automatically entitle you
to cancel any other arrangements even where those arrangements have been made in
conjunction with your flight.
We have no liability to make any payment to you in relation to the Denied Boarding
Regulations or in respect of any flight cancellation or delay, downgrading of any flight ticket
or denial of any boarding as the full amount of your entitlement to any compensation or
other payment (as dealt with above) is covered by the airline’s obligations under the Denied
Boarding Regulations.
If, for any reason, you do not claim against the airline and make a claim for compensation
from us, you must, at the time of payment of any compensation to you, make a complete
assignment to us of the rights you have against the airline in relation to the claim that gives
rise to that compensation payment.
