SC-300 Swirl Coat ApplicatorVersatile coating in three modesFeatures and Benefits• Three modes of operation – bead, monofilament, and swirl – for flexibility and control• High flow rate – fast, and fine control of filmthickness• Easy access design tip for cleaning, nodisassembly required• Simple maintenance; minimum wetted parts areeasy to disassemble and remove• Easier handling of short pot-life materials; truezerocavity design holds no fluid at the tip aftercoating• Four-position tilt accessory available as an option• Ideal for solvent-less coatingsThe SC-300 Swirl Coat applicator offers threemodes of operation – bead, monofilament andswirl. Ideal for conformal coating applications, theSC-300 handles a wide range of materials, varying inviscosity from 30 to 3500 mPa-sec (30 to 3500centipoise). The SC-300 is designed for use withsolvent-less coatings, supporting environmentallyresponsible practices. The SC-300 applicator is easy to maintain and offersseveral key features to make ownership simple. Thezero-cavity nozzle tip prevents material build-upduring operation; it also allows for cleaning withoutdisassembly. There are minimum wetted parts toreplace or clean. The use of advanced materials, smooth internal surfaces and exposed splines makesthem easier to clean. In addition, the SC-300requires no special adjustment during re-assembly --coating performance and fluid sealing are notadjustment dependent. Short pot-life materials areeasier to handle with this applicator. For a broader selection of spray patterns, one ofthree airflow extensions can be fitted onto the mainassembly. The airflow extensions along with thethree spray modes provide coating patterns to fityour application. The high flow rate produces film builds quickly, while allowing for fine control. The fluid passageprovides uniform fluid flow distribution. The airand fluid chamber are co-located so that there israpid response to changes in operation – there areno long air-lines to delay response or to fail.An optional four-position tilt accessory is availableto allow coating access to vertical sides ofcomponents.

The bead may also be used as a spotcommand for single coating of a single test point orcomponent.Monofilament: This pattern is created by controlling the fluidpressure and material flow passing through the nozzle.Auxiliary air circulating through the air passage strikes thematerial at a precise angle, causing it to spin on its axis andform a conical, looping pattern. The monofilament pattern isideal for dispensing broad pattern widths, while maintaininggood edge definition, resulting in faster cycle times.Swirl: The swirl pattern is achieved by increasing air pressureand lowering flow settings. Angled jets impinge air upon thepressurized material exiting the nozzle creating a conical, swirling pattern. The swirling action helps maintain patternshape resulting in excellent width control. Because the air jetscause slight atomization of the material, extremely thin filmbuilds are possible. The mode is ideal for applications wheremoderate selective coating and thin film builds are required. For more information, speak with your localrepresentative orcontact your regionaloffice.Nordsonasymtek.comNorth AmericaHeadquartersCarlsbad, CA, USA+1.760.431.1919info@nordsonasymtek.comChinaShanghai+8621.3866.9166info@asymtek.cnBeijing+8610. 8453.6388info@asymtek.cnGuangzhou+8620.8554.0092info@asymtek.cnEuropeMaastricht, Netherlands+31. 43.352.4466cs.europe@asymtek.comJapanTokyo+81.3.5762.2801Info-jp@nordsonasymtek.comKoreaSeoul+82.31.765.8337info@nordsonasymtek.comIndiaChennai+91. 44.4353.9024info@nordsonasymtek.comS.E.
