The <strong>Center</strong> continued to receive great press coverage <strong>for</strong> all activities! This year we continued to enjoy the help<br />

of Manning Selvage & Lee and together garnered 152 media placements, including print coverage in The Atlanta<br />

Journal-Constitution and accessAtlanta, Creative Loafing, Northside Neighbor, The Story and others, as well as coverage<br />

on TV stations WAGA Fox 5 and CNN.<br />

Notable coverage included:<br />

• The 2005-06 premier of Bobby Box’s Anne Frank: Within & Without garnered press coverage from around<br />

the world. From local publications like The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Jewish Life and Creative<br />

Loafing to international publications like The New York Times, Tal Aviv’s Haaretz and <strong>Puppetry</strong> International to<br />

broadcast TV stations like CNN and ABC, Box’s stirring adaptation received universal acclaim.<br />

• Theatre critic Wendell Brock reviewed the second run of <strong>Avanti</strong>, <strong>Da</strong> <strong>Vinci</strong>!, citing it as “a bawdy, brainy joy<br />

ride that hits the highs and lows of Western culture over these last 500 years.”<br />

• The Sunday Paper reviewed <strong>Avanti</strong>, <strong>Da</strong> <strong>Vinci</strong>! saying the show, “proves an engrossing spectacle, elaborately<br />

and beautifully staged.” (June 26 – July 2, 2005).<br />

• accessAtlanta’s theater writer, Bret Love, took a look at the <strong>Center</strong>’s new Halloween show, Something<br />

Wicked, calling it “an inventive mix of puppetry, poetry, per<strong>for</strong>mance art, film and music.”<br />

• Theatre critic Wendell Brock reviewed The House at Pooh Corner, calling it “sweet than hunny.” Brock also<br />

stated, “It’s a testament to director Bobby Box’s delightful show that these characters have the hug appeal<br />

of plush animals and the comedic assurance of seasoned vaudevillians.” (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution,<br />

September 30, 2005)<br />

• The Atlanta Journal-Constitution put the <strong>Center</strong> on the cover of the Living section when it covered the<br />

effect of higher gas prices on popular field trip destinations (October 17, 2005).<br />

• Head Puppeteer Julie <strong>Da</strong>nsby was profiled in Creative Loafing’s Behind the Scenes section where she and<br />

other puppeteers were deemed “Atlanta’s hardest working per<strong>for</strong>mers.”<br />

• Jon Ludwig’s production of Rain<strong>for</strong>est Adventures was listed in Points North magazine as one of 5 “must do”<br />

things in April 2006.<br />
