BA IN PSYCHOLOGY (CAMPBELL)The Bachelor of Arts degree-completion program inPsychology is designed to take students from a completedcommunity college education to a Master of Arts inCounseling Psychology with an emphasis in marriage,family, and child counseling, or an emphasis in holisticstudies. Courses are held at the South Bay campus inCampbell. The program is built upon a humanistic, philosophicalperspective, which prepares students to appreciatethe capacities, the potential, and the basic dignity of everyindividual.Three components make up the Bachelor of Arts inPsychology: the major, general education coursework, andelectives. The major combines theoretical and applied studies.General-education coursework provides broad perspectivesfound in the liberal arts. Within general education,communication courses help to refine writing, research, andcritical and creative thinking skills. Electives, taken as the lastunits in the BA in psychology, allow students the potentialto begin graduate study in the linked bachelor’s/master’sprograms in counseling psychology offered by the Schoolof Holistic Studies and the Graduate School of ProfessionalPsychology.
