GYNECOLOGY
AND MAMMOGRAPHY
The obstetrics and gynecology department
has been under the direction of chief physician
Jörg-Dietrich Dodenhöft, MD since 1989.
Our spectrum of operations comprises all elements
of breast surgery including reconstructive surgery
after mastectomy as well as cosmetic operations
such as breast reduction and breast enlargement.
In the field of oncology, all chemo therapies in the
department are conducted as out patient treatment
when ever possible. The clinic itself works in col-
laboration with the St. Marien Clinic Amberg/Breast
Center. St. Anna Hospital also offers mammography
screening by Jörg-Dietrich Dodenhöft, MD. The focus
in gynecological operations is on laparoscopic operations
as well as vaginal operation techniques. More
than 90% of the hysterectomies performed here are
conducted vaginally.

Our team of physicians consists of five medical
specialists who concentrate on the following fields:
Oncology, psycho-oncology, obstetrics, laparoscopy,
plastic breast surgery as well as abdominal plastic
surgery. As head of the department, Jörg-Dietrich
Dodenhöft, MD gives great importance to the entire
spectrum of breast diagnostics and breast therapy.
Our department has been certified for breast cancer
screening and has participated in early breast cancer
detection for women ages 50-69 since this practice
was introduced in Germany. Specially trained radiology
assistants conduct the examination sensitively
and under the strictest quality control.
