Single CLI for different point-in-time copy operations<br />

You can use the new SFDB command vxsfadm to perform various point-in-time<br />

Support for file-level snapshots for database cloning<br />

You can use <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> for Databases (SFDB) tools to take file-level<br />

snapshots of your Oracle database and then create one or more clones based on<br />

those snapshots. SFDB tools use the underlying features of <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong><br />

for this operation.<br />

Enhanced authentication support<br />

The authentication support for <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> for Databases (SFDB) tools is<br />

enhanced in this release. You can use the sfae_auth_op to set up and configure<br />

authentication for SFDB tools.<br />

Licensing changes in the SFHA Solutions 6.0 release<br />

<strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> and High Availability Solutions 6.0 introduces the following<br />

licensing changes:<br />

The Cluster File System license is deprecated. CFS customers are entitled to<br />

the <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> Cluster File System High Availability (SFCFS HA)<br />

functionality.<br />

The VVR Option is renamed as <strong>Veritas</strong> Replicator Option. This option includes<br />

VVR (volume-based replication) and the new file-based replication solution.<br />

The VVR Enterprise license is deprecated; you can use <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong><br />

Enterprise and add <strong>Veritas</strong> Replicator Option to get this functionality. VVR<br />

Enterprise customers are entitled to <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> Enterprise with<br />

Replicator Option.
