The development of apersonal style of photography, whichenables the photographer to work as anauthor and director of photo journalism,is therefore significant for his professionalsuccess. On the other hand, there arealso concrete design skills, such as layoutand processing techniques, which aphotographer has to master as well.Regarding a technical and aestheticknowledge of photography, this newsubject tries to take both areas intoaccount, in as far as practical skills beingtaught in terms of conception, layoutand digital image processing."Clashed - Young German Photography"is a book of pictures for theexhibition which goes by the samename at the TZR Gallery Bochum,with work produced in class by KurtSchrage. Here we see the intentionalcombination of the apparently contradictorystyles of portrait, fashionand staging.Anna Figger was nominated in2003 for the State of North RhineWestphalia prize.Photography from therenowned series of motifs,"Valeska" by Elisa Dietrich,who accompanied her dyingsister until her death. Forthis series Elisa Dietrichreceived the 2006 GermanYouth Photo Prize.
