"Altar room" which is a spaceinside the exhibition roomAccolade for art studentFranziska Filthaut designed no lessthan an entire room for her diplomain Fine Arts. The student from Mendentransformed a whole studio roomof the academy into an arena full ofsmall and large items she had found:paintings, sculptures, consumergoods, food packaging, jewellery,bric-a-brac, plants, toys, clothes, pinupand pornographic images, food,medicines and cosmetics. The implementationof the diploma project byFranziska Filthaut impressed thelecturers at the Ruhrakademie somuch that she not only received thebest grade, “1+”, which has been animportant prerequisite of the accoladefor several years, but also was namedthe best in her year group during thecelebration at “Haus Ruhr” castle.
