Undocumented Aliens) of the Medicare Prescription Drug Act is intended to help offset some ofthe cost to these providers for caring for undocumented immigrants and other specified aliens.The amount allotted for this relief is $1 billion, or $250 million per year for fiscal years 2005-2008, to be allocated to hospitals and other health care providers of emergency health servicesfor emergency care. 30Two-thirds of the funds will be divided among all 50 states and the District of Columbia basedon their relative percentages of undocumented aliens.
