The installation must be perf<strong>or</strong>med by a user with Administrat<strong>or</strong>privileges on the PC.Install the year groups in the following <strong>or</strong>der, skipping the year groups you do not own: 3, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2.The screen shots are taken from <strong>Windows</strong> <strong>Vista</strong> f<strong>or</strong> illustration purposes.Stage 1: Install the ‘first’ year group of the software on the standalone PC1. Identify the folder on the PC f<strong>or</strong> the software to be installed into. We advise against using thedefault location and instead recommend using the root of the local drive on which the OperatingSystem is installed, typically 'C:\'.2. Insert the “first” year group CD in the PC's CD ROM drive. If the software fails to startautomatically, double click the CD ROM drive icon in My Computer, then double click the file'Setup', as shown in the screen shots below.

If the ‘AutoPlay’ dialogue displays, click ‘Run Setup.exe’4. If you have User Account Control (UAC) enabled, a 'User Account Control' warning dialogue willbe displayed. Click ‘Allow’ to continue installing the software.5. When the Installer Window displays, click ‘Next’ to proceed.

Accept the licence agreement by clicking the radio button next to 'I agree to the terms andconditions' then click ‘Next’ to proceed.7. Select install to this computer by clicking the ‘<strong>Standalone</strong> install’ button.8. Select the required alternative installation location by clicking ‘Browse’.

In the pop-up window, select the desired installation folder and then click ‘OK’. The software willcreate a new folder in this location called '<strong>Smart</strong> <strong>Learning</strong>'. We have the folder ‘C:\’ in theexample screen shot.10. Confirm the install folder and then click ‘Next’ to proceed.

Review the installation instructions and then click ‘Next’ to start the installation.12. The software will now install the software, starting with the applications files then the activityfiles.13. When completed, click ‘Finish’ to quit the installer.14. Eject the CD ROM.

Confirm the install folder and then click ‘Next’ to proceed. (The install folder should be thatdisplayed during Stage 1, step 11.)8. Review the installation instructions and then click ‘Next’ to start the installation.

Start the software using the desktop <strong>or</strong> Start Menu sh<strong>or</strong>tcuts. The Product Activation screen willbe displayed.

Leaving the USERNAME as ADMIN, enter your licence user passw<strong>or</strong>d in the PASSWORD box.As you enter the passw<strong>or</strong>d, each character is represented by a square (as shown below).This passw<strong>or</strong>d is allocated by the company you purchased the software from and can be foundon a card insert in one of the CDROM cases (and also on your purchase invoice).3. Click ‘OK’. If you make a mistake entering the passw<strong>or</strong>d <strong>or</strong> do not click the ‘OK’ button, you willbe asked to repeat the activation.4. The standard Login screen is displayed.5. The software is now ready to use.6. Log in as USERNAME - ADMIN with your allocated PASSWORD (effectively repeating steps 2-3above) and set up your Teachers, Classes and Pupils as required.
