IDA TOWNSHIP BOARDREGULAR MEETINGWednesday, <strong>May</strong> 8, <strong>2013</strong>The Regular <strong>Meeting</strong> of the <strong>Ida</strong> <strong>Township</strong> Board was called to order at 7:30 PM with the Pledge ofAllegiance to the flag. Members present were Supervisor Ron Iott, Clerk Don Appleman, TreasurerSherry Hilkens and Trustees Elmer Bowman and Randy Stanifer.Public Comment:An <strong>Ida</strong> West Road resident asked if the <strong>Township</strong> Board could begin formulating plans to resurfaceseveral miles of <strong>Ida</strong> West Road, west of the village of <strong>Ida</strong>.Approval of <strong>Minutes</strong>:The minutes of the Regular <strong>Township</strong> Board <strong>Meeting</strong> held April 2, <strong>2013</strong> were reviewed. A motion toapprove the minutes was made by R. Stanifer and supported by E. Bowman. Motion carried.Reports:The Building Department Report was submitted by Building Inspector, David Friend. Only seven (7)permits were issued in the month of April with no new home starts.The Fire Department Report was submitted by Fire Chief, Paul Metz. The Department ran a total ofthirty-eight (38) calls in the month of April. Chief Metz presented the Board with a rebate check for$1,335 as part of the cost of re-banding all of the Fire Department radios. Chief Metz also asked if anall terrain vehicle could be purchased for the Department to be used to access hard to reach areasthat the larger trucks cannot reach during brush and grass fires.The bills were presented for payment by the Clerk. Added to the bills presented were invoices fromApollo Fire Equipment in the amount of $196.24 from account 402-336-740 and Steven’s Disposal inthe amount of $4500 for the <strong>Township</strong> Spring Clean-up event from account 101-250-818. Afterreview a motion to pay the bills as amended was made by E. Bowman and supported by S. Hilkens.A roll call vote was taken and all votes were yes. Motion carried.The Treasurer’s Report was submitted by Treasurer Sherry Hilkens. After review a motion to acceptthe Treasurer’s Report was made by R. Stanifer and supported by R. Iott. Motion carried.Trustee E. Bowman and R. Stanifer called the Board’s attention to the need for a new gasolinegenerator for the Fire Hall to replace an old diesel one, a new roof on the Fire Hall building, andsidewalk repair. Supervisor R. Iott stated he is working on the roof and sidewalk quotes for repairs.The <strong>Ida</strong> Library Report was submitted by Suzanne Krueger, <strong>Ida</strong> Librarian.New Business:A motion to purchase a new 22 hp. Scagg 48” cut lawn mower for use on the cemeteries from D&DSmall Engine in <strong>May</strong>bee, MI at a cost of $6900.00 was made by E. Bowman and supported byD. Appleman. Motion carried.A motion to contract with R&R Lawncare to trim bushes and spray weeds around the <strong>Township</strong>buildings and park was made by R. Stanifer and supported by S. Hilkens. Motion carried.

Iott and supported by E. Bowman. Motion carried.Cleaning the carpet and painting the Community Room was discussed. Estimates will be solicited forthe next <strong>Township</strong> Board meeting.Adjournment:A motion to adjourn was made by E. Bowman and supported by R. Stanifer. Motion carried.
