Significant improvements <strong>in</strong> correlations with the directional AOI data werenot found due to the similarity of the time series trends to those from the circular AOIs. Thecomparison of model output with the directional AOI data therefore did not provide further<strong>in</strong>formation on how the model was perform<strong>in</strong>g so the results are not shown here.
