Chapter 3 – Modelling Land Erodibility Reviewlandscape scale research to map and monitor land susceptibility to wind erosion. This can beachieved by:• Developing models to predict temporal changes in soil surface conditions like surfacecrusting and aggregation that control soil erodibility.• Developing models to assess land erodibility and wind erosion at the landscape scale.• Developing field methods to assess land erodibility and wind erosion that can be appliedto collect data for use in validating spatially distributed models at the landscape scale.• Applying models to learn more about spatial and temporal patterns in land erodibility andlandscape responses to climate variability and land management pressures. The following chapters of this thesis systematically address these research requirements.97
