Dorothea Reynolds was sent to the Ohio Reformatory forWomen for arson. In prison a white guard began making sexual advances toward her. Reynolds reportedthat the officer forced her to perform oral sex on him and the prison authorities gave her various lie-detectortests -- all of which she passed. But, rather than acting in the interest of her safety, prison officials senther back to her cell and told her to get more evidence and to report it again if anything else happenedwhich she did in fact do, if she did so. The guard was moved to another prison but not prosecuted. As ofnow, the DA’s office has refused to litigate Reynolds’ case even though she was assaulted three times. SeeReynolds v.
