Implementation of Transitional Laws in Serbia 2006Right to RehabilitationThis law regulates rehabilitation of persons who were killed, imprisoned or deprived ofsome other rights for political or ideological reasons through a court or administrativedecision starting from April 6, 1941 to the day of coming into force of this law andhad the residence on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. 908Rehabilitation of Senad SljivoSenad Sljivo was employed in the Serbian Ministry of Interior from February1, 1986 to April 2, 1999. 909 All the time he had worked in the Secretariat ofInterior in Jagodina except for the period from June 1990 to 1993 when heworked in the Secretariat of Interior in Cuprija 910 . His engagement in thepolice started on June 1, 1980 when he got employed in the police stationin Foca in Bosnia-Herzegovina and later he was transferred to Serbia. 911He spent around twenty years in the police and he has never made a singeoffence, infringement of discipline or any other 912 .During the 1990s, as a member of the Serbian Ministry of Interior, heoften went to Kosovo – to Kosovska Vitina, Kosovska Kamenica, Prizren,Djakovica and the last time he was in Kosovo was in 1995 913 . According tothe statement given to the Initiative’s investigators, Senad Sljivo witnessed,during his stay in Kosovo, many violations of the service rules and variouscriminal acts committed by his fellow police officers against citizens ofAlbanian nationality 914 in Kosovo. All those cases, bearing in mind that a lotof members of his family were killed during the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina,that his three houses were burnt down and his health was poor, led him todecide not to the battlefield, not to Kosovo nor anywhere else 915 .Sljivo Senad spent two summer months of 1998 having hospital treatmentand operation in Health Center in Cuprija 916 .
