Implementation of Transitional Laws in Serbia 2006I went to Kladovo last year and talked to the judge; I was urged to sign thecriminal reports against Vlastimir Djordjevic and I asked what happenedwith others, what was happening with the investigation against Guri, policeinspector for foreigners in Prokuplje Zoran Stankovic, jail headmasterAleksandar Djordjevic...The judge remained silent. Vlastimir Djordjevic issaid to be in Moscow, all right, but all the others are either still in office orretired” 705 Djordjevic was threatened by anonymous callers as well and told:“We’ll kill you if you come back, we know that you intend to return”. 706The War Crimes Prosecution filed an indictment against Sreten Popovic 707and Milos Stojanovic 708 for committing war crimes against prisoners ofwar 709 . The indictment reads: “Sreten Popovic ordered Milos Stojanovic todeprive the damaged parties of liberty in front of the Prokuplje DistrictPrison and to take them to the instruction center in Petrovo Selo. MilosStojanovic engaged members of the unit Aleksandar Nikolic and DejanStamenkovic, who took over the damaged parties, deprived them of liberty,by putting handcuffs on their hands. He took them to the instruction centerin the handcuffs and handed them over to Sreten Popovic, who held themthere and put them into a room with metal doors, which was located inan unfinished building under the runway, and held them in those closedconditions until July 9, 1999. Late in the evening of July 9, he handedthem over to the so far unidentified members of the Serbian police andSpecial Antiterrorist Unit (SAJ), who tied the damaged parties with wire,,took them to a pit for depositing waste, which is some 500 meters behindthe instruction center, and then they gun fired projectiles into the back ofthe heads of the three damaged parties, which caused their death...” 710 .705 Bojan Toncic: Goran Radosavljević Guri ordered my brothers murder, DANAS, February 19 th , 2004706 R.
