6.10 Checking the brake fluidfBrake fluid is poisonous and musttherefore be stored in closed originalcontainers. Moreover it should be notedthat brake fluid is corrosive on the truck’spaint.The factory-filled brake fluid must beexchanged at least after two years, as itchanges in the course of time and losesits original properties.The brake fluid reservoir (6) is located inthe footwell of the truck and can be6accessed after removing the floor plate.The filling level in the reservoir shouldalways be 2 cm below the reservoir cap(heed the min – max mark).Only use the prescribed fluid.It must be guaranteed at all times that the entire brake system has no leaks.6.11 Safety seat belt serviceThe driver must check condition and correct operation of the safety seat belt on adaily basis before using the industrial truck. Early detection of malfunctions is onlypossible through regular checks.– Pull out belt completely and check for unravelling.– Check the function of the belt buckle for correct retraction of the belt into theretractor– Check cover for damageTesting the automatic blocking retractor:mf– Park the industrial truck on a horizontal surface– Pull out the belt with a jerkThe automatic blocking system must lock the belt in the retractor.Do not operate the industrial truck when the safety seat belt is defective; have the beltexchanged immediately!1102.GBF 13
