<strong>Overview</strong><strong>The</strong> <strong>following</strong> <strong>document</strong> <strong>provides</strong> <strong>additional</strong> <strong>information</strong> regarding themajor requirements for Site Telephone Cabling for the 2013 Formula 1Australian Grand Prix event to be held at Albert Park, Melbourne duringMarch. <strong>The</strong> Event is held over a four day period, however aconsiderable amount of facilities are required to be completed wellprior to the Event.Construction of infrastructure to support the Event is carried out over aneight week build period with dismantle beginning immediately<strong>following</strong> the Event. Full dismantle is required within three weeks of theEvent.<strong>The</strong> Scope of Works<strong>The</strong> Works under the Contract shall include, but not be limited to, theprovision of the complete site telecommunications reticulation andbuilding distribution cabling system for PABX telephone services, the reuseand maintenance of existing cables, the supply, installation, testingand commissioning and maintaining of new cabling systems. <strong>The</strong>equipment used is to be of a high standard of presentation befittingcorporate facilities for a major event.<strong>The</strong> contract will be based on the scope of works and include but notbe limited to the <strong>following</strong>;• Preliminaries, including provision of own Site facilities;• Provision of a standby crew during the Event period formaintenance and rectification.• Transportation, unpacking and repacking the Corporation ownedcontainers and equipment;• <strong>The</strong> preparation of a detailed ‘existing conditions’ report of AGPCowned telecommunications assets other than in the Pit Buildings(Sports Pavilion Complex) and the Formula One Paddock areas,prior to each Event;


• <strong>The</strong> supply, installation, commissioning and subsequent dismantlingpost Event of PABX telephone services for:– Client’s offices;– Contractor’s areas;– Emergency Coordination Centre (Cox/McKenzie Pavilion);– Engineering Site Office complex;– Engineering Operations Centre facility;– Hot Lines;– Media Services (external to the Pit Buildings Complex);– Medical Centre;– National Race Paddock;– Permanent Sports Pavilion Buildings (excluding the Pit Buildingscomplex);– other (as specified herein or subsequently ordered).• <strong>The</strong> final inter-frame wiring jumpering (connections) at theCustomer’s MDF (BD) for all PABX services within the areas coveredby this Contract. <strong>The</strong> Contractor shall generate and record thecable connection details on record sheets and include theserecords into the ‘as-built’ <strong>document</strong>ation;• Building telephone services block and distribution cabling systemsincluding cabling, Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF), FinalDistribution Panels (FDPs), and new outlet sockets;• Re-termination of existing cabling to temporary facilities;• Miscellaneous cables required to service socket outlets accordingto schematics and floor plans;• Provision of “As Built” <strong>document</strong>ation and drawings including thecable route plans with cable sizes (number of pairs) and therelevant EMAC Nos. served;• Provision of complete infrastructure materials inventory list forcables and equipment;• Provision of testing and completion of test records of all cabling atcompletion of works as specified in this Specification<strong>The</strong> Scope of Services<strong>The</strong> Scope of Services required under this Contract shall include, butnot be limited to:• Preparation and implementation of Quality Systems, ContractHSE Plan and detailed construction schedules;


• Inventory control, including submission of a list of <strong>additional</strong>materials if required and a detailed inventory upon packing ofcontainers including the quantity, condition and location of allAustralian Grand Prix Corporation owned assets;• Review and acceptance of survey data provided by others,including location of underground services;• Co-operation and co-ordination with other Contractors on-site;• Continuously monitor and maintain installed works;• Continuously keep the Site and Albert Park clean of constructionand general debris;• Preparation and submission of shop drawings required;• Provision of all facilities, cranage, hoisting, scaffolding, shoring,protective screens and hoardings and other temporary works asmay be necessary.Standards, Safety and Inspections<strong>The</strong> works shall be executed in accordance with the best tradepractices to provide the site with a first class installation both inperformance and in appearance. <strong>The</strong>y shall also comply with therequirements of all statutory acts and regulation that apply for worksincluding the relevant Australian standards as published by StandardsAustralia.<strong>The</strong> contractor shall under its own internal Quality AssuranceProgramme and procedures shall inspect the works during theinstallation. Any rectification shall be carried out progressively and theworks presented for inspection by the authority and the AGPC.Response ProcessExpressions of interest must be limited to four (4) A4 pages and mustinclude company background, relevant experience and capabilities,<strong>information</strong> on recent projects and client references.
