Victorian Industry Participation Policy Act 2003In October 2003, the Victorian Parliament passed the Victorian Industry ParticipationPolicy Act 2003 which requires public bodies and departments to report on theimplementation of the Victorian Industry Participation Policy (VIPP). Departments andpublic bodies are required to apply VIPP in all tenders over $3 million in metropolitanMelbourne and $1 million in regional Victoria.Contracts commenced to which the VIPP applied:• During 2012-13, the Corporation commenced four multi-year contracts totallingapproximately $11.53 million across the total life of the contracts to which the VIPPapplied.• The contracts are in metropolitan Melbourne (3) and regional Victoria (1).• The following benefits to the Victorian economy in terms of skills and technologytransfer from these contracts include:• Maintenance of a permanent workforce in Victoria, drawn from localcommunities.• Ensuring a reasonable quota of apprentices for ongoing training purposesincluding OH&S, IT systems and food safety training.• Working with its suppliers to ensure that where appropriate the latestavailable technology from <strong>Australian</strong> suppliers is utilised on the job.Contracts completed to which the VIPP applied:• During 2012-13, the Corporation completed 3 contracts totalling approximately $29.8million in total value to which the VIPP applied.• The contracts were in metropolitan Melbourne (2) and regional Victoria (1).• The following benefits to the Victorian economy in terms of skills and technologytransfer from these contracts include:o Training in safe work practices, environmentally responsible processes,increased skill base; ando Increased number of trained operators;Disclosure of Major ContractsDuring the year ended 30 June <strong>2013</strong>, the Corporation did not enter into a contractgreater than $10 million dollars in total value.f.
