LOCAL FEDERAL COORDINATING COMMITTEECombined Federal Campaign of Eastern Massachusettswww.easternmasscfc.orgSeptember 2011Dear Eastern Massachusetts Federal Employees:Welcome to the 2011 Eastern Massachusetts Combined Federal Campaign! This is truly anhistoric occasion as we celebrate together 50 years of helping others through the CFC!As Chairperson of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC) that oversees the CFC inthis region, I am asking for your support. Last year, a year when many felt the pinch of tight dollars, youhelped raise $2.23 million to benefit thousands of charities that meet critical needs in our state, our nationand around the world. We are very proud of this accomplishment and YOU made it happen! Yourgenerosity is so greatly appreciated!Again, your help is needed more than ever. Job loss and long-term unemployment continue to becritical issues in many lives. Housing, energy, food and other costs are extremely high. The charitableorganizations that make a difference are stretched to their limits as they strive to meet the multiple needsbefore them. Even one dollar per week – less than the cost of a cup of coffee – can make a huge differencewhen multiplied by many people who care. Let’s once again strive for increased CFC participation! Let’sreach out to our friends and colleagues in the federal community and ask them to get involved in the CFC!CFC charities help care for countless families close to home and throughout the globalcommunity. Contributions aid the disabled, the elderly and those suffering from chronic illness. They fundprograms to assist at-risk young people and provide pathways out of poverty, abuse and homelessness. They support the arts, health initiatives, the environment, medical research and public safety initiatives.I am proud of my years contributing to the CFC and ask for your participation in this year’scampaign. The enclosed brochure lists more than 3,000 charities covering myriad services and you maychoose which charity to contribute to and the amount to give. It is likely that at least one has touched youand your family or friends. It is very moving to all of us that this year – 2011 – is the 50 th Anniversary of the CombinedFederal Campaign. We have a dedicated and energetic CFC team ready to make the campaign a hugesuccess! With your help, people and communities near and far will benefit from this important initiativeand recognize, once again, that our Federal employees truly care.Sincerely,Thank you for giving to the Combined Federal Campaign!Heather M.
