Afterlunch in a local restaurant, you will proceed to see Sakkara, The Step Pyramid, built for the 3rdDynasty Pharaoh Djoser by the architect Imhotep. Later you will visit Memphis, the capital of thePharaohs during the old Kingdom, built by King Menes and is located 24 kilometers southwest ofCairo. Return to the Hotel. Later you will visit Coptic Cairo, which includes the old churches of the4th Century and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. After Lunch in a local Restaurant, visit the Citadel ofSalah El Din, which is one of the world's greatest monuments to medieval warfare, as well as ahighly visible landmark on Cairo's eastern skyline. Afterthat, you will stop by The Alexandria Library, which was burnt in year 48BC by Julius Caesarduring the Alexandria war, and now has been revived by the Egyptian Government and UNESCO.Lunch will be at a local restaurant. After lunch you will proceed to Pompey’s Pillar: A 25m highcolumn made from red Aswan granite with a circumference of 9M, which was constructed in honorof the Emperor Diocletian. Visit the temple shared by the two gods Sobek & Haroeris.The magnificent Ptolemaic temple, set on high ground by the banks of the Nile surrounded bysugarcane fields. The temple is famous for its twin entrances, halls and sanctuaries. Return to thecruise to sail to Edfu. Visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu; the falcon headed God. It is the bestpreservedcult temple in Egypt & an essential landmark for archaeological enthusiasts. Sail to Luxor,dinner on board<strong>Day</strong> 9 – Sunday B L DAfter breakfast, you have the morning to relax on the Cruise. After lunch, in the afternoon, you willvisit the East Bank: The Karnak Temples, which cover almost 100 acres and the history of which spansover 13 centuries. The temples start with the Avenue of Rams representing Amons- symbol of fertilityand growth. Beneath the Rams’ heads, small statues of Ramses II were carved.
