Then you will be transferred to your hotel, with the remainder of the dayat your leisure.Day 03 - Monday B LBreakfast at the Hotel. Meet your local English speaking tour guide, and start your day in a privateair conditioned Bus by visiting one of the last remaining seven wonders, The Three Pyramids,Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerionos. When you finish exploring the Great Pyramids your next stopis a visit to the Sphinx Monument, which guards the royal burial chambers and The Pyramids. Afterlunch in a local restaurant, you will proceed to see Sakkara, The Step Pyramid, built for the 3rdDynasty Pharaoh Djoser by the architect Imhotep. Later you will visit Memphis, the capital of thePharaohs during the old Kingdom, built by King Menes and is located 24 kilometers southwest ofCairo. Return to the Hotel. During the day you can enjoy a camel ride courtesy from Harvey WorldTravel. The evening is at your leisure.Day 04 - Tuesday B LBreakfast at the Hotel. Start your day in a private air-conditioned bus by visiting The EgyptianMuseum, housing the largest collection of ancient monuments in the world, including the goldentreasures of Tutankhamun. Later you will visit Coptic Cairo, which includes the old churches of the4th Century and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. After Lunch in a local Restaurant, visit the Citadel ofSalah El Din, which is one of the world's greatest monuments to medieval warfare, as well as ahighly visible landmark on Cairo's eastern skyline. The citadel includes the Alabaster Mosque ofMohamed Ali.You will end up by a walk through Khan El-Khalili bazaar. Return to the hotel to have the eveningat your leisure.Day 05 - Wednesday B LBreakfast at hotel for an early departure. Start your tour to Alexandria (210 KM form Cairo) byvisiting The Catacomb of Kom El-Shokafa these tombs were tunneled into the bedrock. Afterthat, you will stop by The Alexandria Library, which was burnt in year 48BC by Julius Caesarduring the Alexandria war, and now has been revived by the Egyptian Government and UNESCO.Lunch will be at a local restaurant. After lunch you will proceed to Pompey’s Pillar: A 25m highcolumn made from red Aswan granite with a circumference of 9M, which was constructed in honorof the Emperor Diocletian. Originally from the temple of the Serapes. Nearby are subterraneangalleries where sacred Apis bulls were buried, and three sphinxes. Return to Cairo.Day 6 – Thursday BAfter Breakfast, the day is at your leisure. You can contact our local representative for one of the manyoptional tours around Cairo. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.Day 7 – Friday B L DAfter breakfast, you will have the option (at own expense) to visit Abu-Simbel or stay at the Hotel.Transfer to your Nile Cruise.Abu-Simbel Excursion: Transfer from your Nile Cruise to Aswan Airport for your EgyptAir flight toAbu-Simbel where you will see two of the most magnificent monuments in the world are located atAbu Simbel. The Great Temple of Ramses II and the smaller temple of Nefertari of which the removaland reconstruction were historical events due to the temples being threatened by submersion inLake Nasser at the time of the construction of the High Dam. After the tour you will be transferredback to Abu-Simbel Airport for your EgyptAir flight to Aswan. Day 8 – Saturday B L DAfter breakfast, we sail to Kom-Ombo. Visit the temple shared by the two gods Sobek & Haroeris.The magnificent Ptolemaic temple, set on high ground by the banks of the Nile surrounded bysugarcane fields. The temple is famous for its twin entrances, halls and sanctuaries. Return to thecruise to sail to Edfu. Visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu; the falcon headed God. It is the bestpreservedcult temple in Egypt & an essential landmark for archaeological enthusiasts. Sail to Luxor,dinner on boardDay 9 – Sunday B L DAfter breakfast, you have the morning to relax on the Cruise. After lunch, in the afternoon, you willvisit the East Bank: The Karnak Temples, which cover almost 100 acres and the history of which spansover 13 centuries. The temples start with the Avenue of Rams representing Amons- symbol of fertilityand growth. Beneath the Rams’ heads, small statues of Ramses II were carved. Luxor Temple isdedicated to Amun and was built during the New Kingdom, the focus of the annual Opet Festival, inwhich a cult statue of Amun was paraded down the Nile . Back to the Nile Cruise.
