ACKNOWLEDGEMENTviACKNOWLEDGEMENTThe <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>ning and Development Commission and the <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong>Fiscal Court offer their appreciation to the many people and organizations whocontributed to the preparation of the 2007 <strong>Comprehensive</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> Update. TheCOMPREHENSIVE PLAN REVIEW COMMITTEE spent many hours attendingmonthly meetings, reviewing materials, and providing recommendations for thisproject. Their contributions significantly shaped the <strong>Plan</strong> Update and theirparticipation helped assure that the broad views of county residents wererepresented in the update process.Many organizations and individuals contributed to the process by providinginformation, providing meeting rooms and helping with the public meetings whichallowed for citizen comments that lead to the development of the plan. Theseorganizations include <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> Cooperative Extension Service, Lincoln TrialArea Development District, <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> School Board, <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> FarmBureau, Heart of Kentucky Association of Realtors and the Lincoln Trail HomeBuilders Association.Representatives of the Elizabethtown <strong>Plan</strong>ning and Development, ElizabethtownWater Department, <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of Education, <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> District HealthDepartment, <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> Road Department, <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> Water District No. 1,<strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> Water District No. 2 and the Radcliff <strong>Plan</strong>ning Department providedinput to the Committee. Additionally, Ms. Lori Garkovich, Extension Specialist andresident of Woodford <strong>County</strong>, provided examples of growth management activitiescurrently being implemented or initiated in Kentucky and about the development ofthe Rural Residential regulations adopted in Woodford <strong>County</strong>.Finally, the <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>ning and Development Commission and the <strong>Hardin</strong><strong>County</strong> Fiscal Court thanks and acknowledges the citizens of <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> whoparticipated in the public meetings and hearings. The purpose of this plan is to servethe future needs of <strong>Hardin</strong> <strong>County</strong> residents and input from citizens is important.<strong>2008</strong> <strong>Comprehensive</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>
