The Peking- Student Associations show an enrollment of 627, divided into. sixty-sevengroups. Of these men 400 are reported as studyingtheir Bibles daily, and three weekly normal classes areheld for the group leaders of the city. A Bible institute,the first to be conducted in Peking, was held during theautumn with six addresses on the importance of Biblestudy. The Bible institute has been a feature of thework of the Tientsin association for the past sevenyears, but the institute of this year has marked adecided advance over those of previous years. Theattendance was 1,500, mostly of the student class. Manywere enrolled during the meetings and classes have beenstarted in the association building, in chapels throughout the city, in the homes of the secretaries and association teachers. At a meeting conducted by Mr.Geo. T. B. Davis seventy men joined the Pocket Testament League, thus signifying their determination tomake it the rule of their lives to carry a New Testamentwith them constantly and to read at least one chapterof the Bible daily. Besides the students in day andevening classes the Seoul association has 350 differentmen enrolled in 21 classes. Last year s enrollment of357 in the Shanghai association has increased to 600,nearly 500 of whom are not yet Christians.In distant Cheutu among the non-Christian students the Bible class is found to be one of the mostpractical evangelistic agencies.
