E., theSunday School Committee, the Federation Councils,and the various Missions and individuals have cooperated most heartily. The Y. M. C. A. has placed itsmachinery at the disposal of the committee, and in alarge measure made possible anything the committeehas been able to accomplish.There has been no attempt to makeOrganization.the Bible study movement a union movement, but thecommittee has sought to make existing organizations,wherever possible, serve so as not to bring new organizations into existence. The work has been promoted inevery province in some form or other. In some provinces it has been most efficient and has accomplished agreat deal, while in others it is in the early stages.This has been accomplished either by the appointmentof denominational committees, mission committees, orby using federation councils or existing organizations.A mission working in a certain locality appointed itscommittee, and that committee carried forward theBible study work in its mission. Bible study committees have been appointed by various provincialfederation councils, and they have carried the workforward either along denominational or federation linesas it seemed best. In one or two cases the work hasbeen united with some existing committee, like a tractsociety or a Sunday school committee.The Nature of the Work Done. The work, to stateit briefly has, up to this time, taken some five forms ;themost prominent, perhaps, being gatherings like theBible institutes, conferences, or Bible classes whichwere held ;the length of time and the nature of theconference being determined by the kind of people theywere attempting to reach, and the locality in which theywere held.
