""144 CHINA MISSION YEAR BOOK.The conference of church workers for Bible study atChangsha was attended by over one hundred preachersand leaders connected with eleven different denominationsand coining from eleven different cities or towns. Forfour days courses of Biblical instruction were given.United Free Church of Scotland.Districts of Haicheng, Liaoyang, Moukden, Hsingching,Kaiyuan, Hailungcheng, Mainiaikai, Ashiho, and Hulan.Liaoyang. The present year will long be remembered in Manchuria as the year of the great revival. InJanuary two men from Liaoyang saw something of themiracle of grace in Korea and came home with heartsaflame. Simultaneously Mr. Goforth, of the CanadianPresbyterian Mission in Honan, came to conduct ourNew Year Convention, now an annual institution atLiaoyang. He too had been to Korea. They never knew the content ofthe word sin before ;now they can never mistake it.One result was deep concern amongst the Christiansfor the members of their own families and for theirfriends and neighbours who still remained indifferentto the claims of Christ, and many contributed of theirtime ;some one month, some three months, and evenmore, to the work of colportage and village or streetpreaching.I opened a summer school for schoolmasters duringtheir vacation, and it has come to stay. Our Christianschools cannot be suffered to fall behind thevillage
