The Ahadi began after Kisasi made a solitary trekacross the Serengeti, searching for answers to her people’stroubles. Kiva, an elderly Bagheera, told the young Ajabaof Black Tooth’s many evils and how almost all of Africa’sChanging Breeds hated and feared him. Fired with theenergy of youth, and the certainty of one who does notknow that their task is impossible, Kisasi was determinedto forge an alliance of shapeshifters to fight against theEndless Storm. The fledgling Ahadi is currently reaching out tothose Simba who oppose Black Tooth, as well as to themysterious Bubasti. If she can manage that, Kisasi wantsnext to make contact with both the Silent Striders andthe Kucha Ekundu — the Red Talons of Africa — to30THE FUTURE OF THE AHADIIf Kisasi gets her way, the Ahadi will soonattack the Endless Storm. Many outcomes arepossible, but one is most likely. The Ahadi is made up of the Ajaba, Bagheera,Bubasti, Swara, some Simba, Mokolé, SilentStriders, Kucha Ekundu, and the African Coraxknown as Makunguru. They attack the EndlessStorm in a prolonged and bloody war, where theysee first-hand that Black Tooth allied himselfwith banes, vampires, and other monsters, whowill readily join the fight in his defense.Black Tooth will never yield; the war endsonly with his death. At this point, his magicalbindings will collapse, and the Ahadi caneradicate the remainder of the Endless Stormand reclaim the lands long denied to them. From here, the Ahadi becomes the dominantsupernatural force in Africa, one of only twolasting alliances between the Changing Breeds.Black Tooth’s corrupt allies still stalk the veldt. Now unorganized and unfettered, they will noteasily or speedily be dispatched. As well, while the Ahadi brings temporarypeace to Africa’s Changing Breeds, they still facedissent from within. Some shapeshifters see noneed for a unified organization now that BlackTooth is dead — and others see the Ahadi asstanding in the way of their personal quest forpower.CHANGING BREEDSbring the Garou to her side. Her greatest challenge willbe to convince both the Silent Striders and the Simbathat Black Tooth’s defeat won’t put the Ajaba back incontrol, swapping one dictator for another, no matterhow well intentioned. In working with both sides, she isstriving to create a new era of peace between the Ajabaand the Changing Breeds of Africa.Kisasi has a vision of the Ahadi carrying on afterBlack Tooth’s death, replacing the Hyenas’ rule andthe Endless Storm both. She wants a council of eldersfrom all of the Changing Breeds to tend to each region, and for these local councils to gather in larger groups todiscuss matters of relevance to all of Africa.West AfricaWest Africa stands apart from the rest of thecontinent. Without a native population of Ajaba orSimba, it has remained largely isolated from the conflictbetween the werehyenas and Black Tooth, and the morerecent tensions between the fledgling Ahadi and theEndless Storm. But this does not mean it is a place ofrespite. The chaotic area is currently home to severaldifferent groups of Changing Breeds, none of whom canclaim to control the region. The nations of West Africa are predominantlydesperately poor states, many embroiled in civil wars. Dayto-daylife for the local Changing Breeds is, if anything, even less peaceful and organized than it is for their humanKin. Ananasi and Ratkin (aided by Ajaba refugees) rulethe cities from above and below, while Bastet and Mokolé(and if rumors are correct, a few Nagah) dwell mostlyin rural areas. Rapidly growing cities spread pollutionand destroy the habitat of those Changing Breeds wholive in the wilds, however, and an increasing number ofthem are moving into the cities, creating conflict withthe shapeshifters already living there.Places like Abidjan, Accra, and Conakry are allgrowing rapidly, and are home to an increasing percentageof both the human and the shapeshifting populationof these nations. The Ratkin are the most numerousChanging Breed in these cities, and they are sufficientlyviolent that most newcomers fear their numbers andavoid parts of the cities where the Ratkin rule.Chinese businesses have begun to expand intoWest African nations like Ghana and the Republic ofSenegal, and members of the Beast Courts have comewith them, hoping to forge the same link to Africa asthey have to Middle Kingdom. Some of these hengeyokaihave met with local shapeshifters in an effort to fostercooperation against mutual threats. A handful of themost radical young hengeyokai have even suggestedthat the Beast Courts attempt to expand formally intoWest Africa, claiming Dragon Nests and forming local
